  1. Well I like the idea of future proofing and the 980 does deliver better performance. And both cards have the function of having 4k resolution displayed at 1080p or something like that?
  2. Getting a 970 at first and later adding another one for SLI doesn't sound too bad actually, instead of spending a lot on the 980 once off.
  3. Hi guys! I'm in the process of buying myself parts for building a new pc and want some opinions on it, especially the GPU part. My build: -MOBO: msi z97 krait edition -CPU: i7-4790K -GPU: gtx 970 or gtx 980 (is there any reason I should no get the gtx 980 appart from the price difference?) -RAM: Kingston hyperx 1866 (4x4gb) -CASE: NZXT H440 -CPU cooler: Corsair H105 Hydro series -PSU: Antec edge 750w (80 gold plus) -SSD: Intel 730 240gb x2 -HHD: Seagate SATA3 1TB 7200rpm I will use it for both Gaming and video editing and rendering. Would getting the 980 be a good thing, and will it work? Or am I just better off sticking with the 970? Thanks guys
  4. Thanks for the responses guys! Appreciate it! And I thought that was the case! =) will just make sure I'm getting the best water cooler for the job then!
  5. NZXT Phantom 530 vs NZXT H440 I'm stuck between these two choices for my new build. which would be better? I'm leaning towards the H440 at this point because of looks but is a bit worried about cooling as it's sealed off more than the phantom. I am going to get water cooling for the CPU though. This is the build I'm looking at with either case. Parts: Graphics Card: Gigabyte gtx 970 CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k CPU cooler: NZXT Kraken X61 280mm watercooler Motherboard: MSI Z97M-G43 Intel LGA 1150 PSU: CORSAIR TX 650W Ram: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer (2x4gb) DDR3 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM SSD: Samsung 128GB pro So: 1. Would the H440 stay cool enough with water cooling added? 2. If so I was thinking of mounting the radiator on the top in pull configuration (push pull if enough space?) and use the back fan and top back fan as exhaust? 3. I know the phantom has better airflow but want to know if the H440 would be able to keep components cool enough with intensive 3D rendering and intensive gaming?
  6. Cool! thanks guys!
  7. I'm building my first pc and want to use it for both editing/rendering and gaming. I was looking at these parts and was looking for opinions on it please as I am still a newbie with this. Parts: Case: phantom NZXT 530 Graphics Card: Gigabyte gtx 970 CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k CPU cooler: NZXT Kraken X61 280mm watercooler Motherboard: MSI Z97M-G43 Intel LGA 1150 PSU: CORSAIR TX 650W Ram: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer (2x4gb) DDR3 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM SSD: Samsung 128GB pro -Decided to go with the gigabyte gtx 970, was between them and MSI but from what I saw and read, gigabyte has solid new tech cooling plus it is the fastest out of the bunch. -Thought the NZXT 530 case was the best budget case for airflow and keeping my system cool -Been having trouble finding a decent blue mobo, but found this one and it looked decent Any advice on any of these parts would be greatly appreciated! Or if everything looks good I'll be happy as well! Just want to make sure Everything will be compatible and that I'm not doing something stupid! Thank you!
