  1. Okay, yeah now that I think of it, I think that's it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
  2. I think the results I'm getting with CrystalDiskMark are odd. The Seq. numbers are out there. Any ideas?
  3. Similar dilemma , Samsung and Crucial make the fastest and cheaper drives than the competition, but here in Canada Samsung as a reputation for not honouring warranties on SSDs. Crucial give me a real hard time when I refused to pay brokerage on replacement ram module they sent and were not helpful in resolving the issue. So I'm stuck with Kingston pretty much.
  4. The information they've been giving they're either seriously ignorant or lying. I received an ultimatum from the last service manager, either I accept paying brokerage and taxes (even though I've officially confirmed neither would be due) or they won't deal with me from here out. I've written to the President and CEO, curious to see how far this bs goes. No one here seems to care so unless something profound happens I'm signing off.
  5. Good thing I was not optimistic. No return calls. Update: Here is where it currently stands. Spoke with a manager, I asked why it is that I've never been charged for an RMA from the States before, he just keep saying its the CBSA's fault not theirs (fact is, on $6 of that $16 was charged by CBSA, the rest was a very poorly done brokerage job). He said he'd look into what could be done. Got an email from him saying they could ship it again, and I can then apply for a refund with CBSA. Wrote back and told him that $10 was brokerage and they're not going to refund that. Said it wasn't going to work for me. SERIOUSLY, if you're in Canada get ready to be screwed when companies like Crucial send you RMA replacements from the States.
  6. Okay, I did a chat with Crucial. Wasn't every encouraging. Basically, it's not their problem, take it up with the govt. Here's the conversation. Chat session started at 12:00:26 Please be patient while you are being connected with an operator ... You are now chatting with Allan Allan:Thank you for contacting Crucial.com. How may I help you today? Me:didn't have a good experience today with your rma to canada Me:order number 0000000000 Allan:I am sorry to hear that you had a bad Experience. What seems to be the issue? Me:the letter carrier wanted to charge me $16 is brokerage and duty on the rma. Never had that happen in thirty five years. Allan:I am sorry to hear about that, however we do label the replacements as such, thus them charging you for the duties is due to your local government. You would need to contact them to dispute the issue. Me:like I said, never been charged such fees for rmas ever. They're usually marked as RMA when shipped and no fees at the other end. Was suggested I contact you directly to see what could be done. Already refused the shipment. Me:still there? Allan:Yes, I am looking into what I can do for you, if anything Allan:Alright, I am going to file this to be looked over by our international team as at this time there is nothing I can personally do for you. a Allan:For me to do this I will need a phone number and for you to confirm the shipping address and email address. (gave him the info). Apparently I'll hear from someone within 24 hours. Not optimistic, they seem to think its fine for Canadians to have to pay shipping to them and to pay duty and brokerage.
  7. I've emailed them, haven't heard anything yet (only been two hours). I'll report back when or if they respond...I wasn't very positive in the email.
  8. If you're in Canada, you should consider other options than Crucial in the event you might have to RMA. Had to pay to ship the bad stick to the states (not that unusual), but when the replacement arrived nearly three weeks later the letter carrier wanted $16 to cover brokerage and duties! That is unusual (never had that happen before with an RMA). When I had issues with a Kingston SSD, they paid shipping both ways and no duties or brokerage at my end. I'd go with them over Crucial anyday. I hear Corsair isn't much better.
  9. Crucial send my rma replacement UPS Mail (ie: they picked it up and sent it to the post office). I was hit with a $16 brokerage and duties. Refused the package. Stay away from companies that RMA from the states, you'll get screwed.
  10. What don't you like about this case? Was going to buy the white one without the window.
