  1. My advice, download a flavor of Ubuntu (or any popular distro), download Rufus, burn the image to a USB drive and install it besides windows, dual boot and play with it and see what you think. If you don't like it is easy enough to dumb and go back to windows or try another distro. I mention Ubuntu simply becasue the community is huge so its easier to find help, but other option could be Pop_OS, Linux Mint, Fedora or Manjaro.
  2. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't really care if google collects my data, it doesn't really effect me, if anything them build a profile of what I like has some value. It also helps them improve their products.
  3. In short no its not really that necessary, JayzTwoCents has a pretty good video on his channel about the subject.
  4. Well if you compare the RTX2060 to the GTX1060 it looks like a pretty terrible value, but when you compare it to a GTX1070 you'll see that its basically a 1070, they have the same number of cuda cores. So think of the 2060 as a 1070 with faster memory and ray tracing. Doesn't seem like its such a bad deal when you consider that. I'm guessing there will be a new RTX2050 that will more closely resemble the 1060 at the $250ish price point.
  5. If you plan on getting a rx580 I would recommend XFX or Sapphire, they are kind of the EVGA of the red team
  6. As a current owner of a rx 580 8gb(previously crossfire rx580), I kinda hope Vega prices drop to a point that they become more reasonable. Maybe I'll just wait on Navi, it's rumored to have GTX1080 level performance for around $250, probably closer to $300 in reality.
  7. True, but you wonder about the overclocking ability and the efficiency of 7nm, and if it performs 25% faster than Vega 64 as reported it wouldn't be a bad card, I still can't wrap my head around AMD's obsession with HBM memory, through DDR6 on the price goes down significantly
  8. Just curious about what everyone thinks about the Radeon VII graphics card set to launch in February. It has 4 less CU's than the Vega 64, but the 7nm process seems to have made up the difference plus 25%. Would it be worth upgrading if you owned a Vega 64 or Vega 56?
  9. If you aren't partial to ryzen, coffeelake intel cpu's have a little better performance
  10. I would try another gpu, borrow a buddies or whatever, because ryzen doesn't have any integrated graphics so you wont see anything, not even the bios without a gpu. If the system boots with the other gpu, shut it down and add your rx580 and see if the system recognizes it.
  11. Assuming you've got a basic understanding of html and css I'd go for javascript or php, then migrate to a framework once you get the basics down. I started with php and have moved to Codeigniter and onto Laravel... But everyones pretty much right it depends on what you are trying to do.
