  1. Sadly my laptop doesn't have usb 3. I ended up getting a IBM Thinkpad t420. The expresscard solution seems like the best bet.
  2. Hello, I am purchasing a Dell E6420 from eBay. I was wondering if it had an extra, Mini PCI Express slot, for a dyi project. If it doesnt that is fine, I can always unlpug the wireless card. The model I am purchasing does not have a Buisness Gpu, and only had Integrated graphics. Thanks so much!
  3. Ah, thats a shame. Seeing I do not have the cash for whatever msi laptop linus reviewed. Is dissapoint.
  4. Hello. I was wondering if it is possible to hook a Desktop Gpu to a Dell E6420 HD+. (I7-2720qm, Quadro 4200, 8gb ram, 240 ssd.) I was thinking of playing some newish games, and the quadro doesn't cut it. How would this be achieved, some external pcie adapter, and htpc case and an open dvi/hdmi port? Would I only be able to output to a monitor? What would the tdp of the card need to be? Thanks so much! edit:deaktop gg.
  5. I would say... get that bad boy to 2.22 ghz, and about 253v. It can handle it trust me. c:
  6. Honestly, you just need a whole system overhaul. Your other specs would be a huge bottleneck. For your second question.. I guess?
  7. With 270: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/c4pM6h Should I change anything else?
  8. Ah good catch. It seems the 270 is better. (Just barley.) also it is the same price.. Would you guys recommend the HIS or XFX card?
  9. Did a little research on that myself, pass mark is a little bit higher. Also, shows better fps in most games.(For 660)
  10. I plan to upgrade! With cyber Monday deals still carrying through the week thought it would be a good time. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/VbhZrH Got the extra case fans because I plan to use the stock cooler, and the GPU only has 1 fan. Any suggestions to improve my build?
  11. If you do not have a console and want a gaming PC, I am not talking you out of it. c:
  12. I'd say this. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Mf3dgs It is my cyber Monday, up your's consoles build. If you want put in a better GPU and bigger psu to go with it.
  13. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fFdgpg PS4 has nothing on this. For a mere 550$ price tag, you can't beat it. Any improvements or suggestions? (I don't trust dual cores for gaming, so no g3258)
  14. I would also, but last time I checked it retails for about 280.
  15. I have heard that the build quality isn't consistent on their cheaper models. Also, that is a glossy panel. So, if you have the sun shining anywhere in your room, the screen turns into a mirror and gets a yellow tone. Yellow mirror. Also, you have to understand that response times aren't the only thing. There is also imput lag, which I know the Samsung monitor does very well. Which is the amount of delay between the time you hit something on your keyboard or controller and you see it happen. So, better imput lag is key. Also, if your response time is under 8ms you are fine. You will not see the differnce i gamed on my Samsung then went to gaming on a BenQ RL2460HT Which is the console gaming tourney monitor with 1ms. Didn't notice any change in responsiveness. I actually choose the Samsung over the 23" variant of that monitor you chose.
  16. I would say the PB238Q. It has very low response time and imput lag. Probably one of the lowest in the industry. It was made for gamers who want an Ips panel. It preforms ver similarly to the Dell u2312hm. But, the screen is noticeably less grainy, and I personally like the astehtics better. It is a 23 inch though. It's older brother, the PB248Q is a tad more expensive. The PB238Q is currently 220$ In the United States right now. If you are a console guy and have no PC ignore all ^^ and get the. S24D590PL. It currently retails for 180$ It is the same monitor I use for the ps4, has the new A-PLS panels. (Samsungs version of AH-Ips) it has a very good gaming times, and for its price the colors are phenomenal. The only downside is the lack of adjustments with its TV looking stand.
  17. My bad, bad link. Here: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8897107
  18. http://www.whatisrightforme.com/laptop/best?cpu+type%5B%5D=AMD+A8&cpu+type%5B%5D=Intel+Core+i5&memory%5B%5D=6&memory%5B%5D=8&graphics+card%5B%5D=NVIDIA+GeForce+GT+840M&hdmi%5B%5D=HDMI This ^^ Thinking of getting one for Christmas, since I need a laptop. The features on this one seem awesome to me, does anyone have anything better in its price range? (I.E something with a better battery.)
  19. Or better yet since your gpu is fine for now, wait for R9 380x or 390x.
  20. Your Cpu is fine, but your GPU is a tad outdated. Would upgrade to a 970. But, I don't see why it would bottleneck.. Do you have sufficient RAM, or HDD space?
