  1. Hi Itguy and Zauski Thanks for the posts. i was thinking of upgrading the system MOBO to a Z97 chipset either Asus or MSI, really strugling to find a board with the right color scheme. i love the MSI gaming edition boards with the mat black finish but they all have a red and black theme and Asus have a black and gold or on the Gryphon boards a black and like olive brown theme. With regards to the GPU rad i have to admit i started the build with my old H100 on my cpu and actually bought the H110 for the gpu... but the chassis doesnt support it without removing the 5.25" bays which i really wanted to keep in, So i bought a H105 and replace the H100 with the H110. Some of the boards i was looking at... http://us.msi.com/product/mb/Z97M_GAMING.html#hero-overview http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z97MPLUS/overview/ http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/GRYPHON_Z97_ARMOR_EDITION/ http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z97MG43.html#hero-overview%C2'> (maybe the best one to support my theme)
  2. Hi TristanDaVoulas and Laputacake TristanDaVoulas thanks for the advice i will see what i can do. And yeah Laputacake i was also amazed at the temps, i will be tracking the temps and will let everyone know after it heats up a bit here.
  3. So Temps are as follows. I Played BF3 on ultra settings for about 2 hours, near the end i minimized BF3 and took a screenshot of CPUID HWMonitor. When i started the CPU was idiling on 20-21°C and the GPU on 27-28°C As you can see when i took the screenshot the CPU was between 35-38°C and the GPU was at 34-35°C and according to HWMonitor the MAX temp on the CPU was 48°C and on the GPU 37°C Now when i had the H75 on its max was about 50-52°C. Now about the ambient temp, i dont have anything to accurately measure it with. Please correct me if i am wrong, I would assume that no mater what the ambient temp is at, the cooler would perform at the same temperature differences, meaning if the ambient was at 20°C and the cpu temp when running the game went up to 30°C there would be a 10°C difference so if the ambient was at 30°C then i would assume that the cpu temp when running the game would be at 40°C, and the difference would still be 10°C on different ambient temps. look at this article it probably explains it better. http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/How-Ambient-Temperatures-Affect-Your-PC-158/
  4. HI Marvzl1357 and Jacknif thanks for the posts. Marvzl1357 thanks for the suggestion i will do when i figure it out. Jacknif the fans on the H105 are all sp120L fans that come standard with the H105 (p.s i used the other 2 fans that came with my H75 on the H105). I have to say i have been through many many chassis and this one is the perfect size for me, e.g if you had the Cooler Master Cosmos SE (which is pretty big "like i said one of the many many chassis") the only big difference is that the SE can fit a full ATX MOBO in it and has a bit more space for Hdd's and to fit a 360mm rad in it you would have to mod the chassis a bit. and for everyone i will inform you of the temps as soon as i get them.
  5. hi I3gendluk3 It is, unfortunately its the price i had to pay for noise and cooling. Any suggestions to improve it?.
  6. hi Homicidium i will let you know tomorrow as i will be testing it tonight. only installed the H105 last night and it was a replacement for an H75. the H75 was good but its a hot card to begin with, and i havent overclocked it yet.
  7. hi Wauthar thanks for the post, yes it is a bit crammed but it is a small case. any suggestions?.
  8. Hi Guys I am new to this forum and just wanted to display my current rig and hopefully get some feedback from you on future improvements. The Build: Chassis: Corsair Obsidian 350D CPU: Intel i7 4770k. MOBO: Gigabyte Z87m D3H. RAM: Kingston Hyper X Fury 8gigs 1600MHz. GPU: Gigabyte R9 290 Windforce edition. Hdd: 1 x Corsair GT 128Gb SSD and 1 x 2TB Seagate SSHD. PSU: Yama Titan 750 Watt (temp replacement, my Corsair GS800 broke). Cooling: 1 x Corsair H110 for CPU, 1 x Corsair H105 for GPU(with NZXT Kraken GPU mount), 2 x Corsair AF 140mm Blue LED, 1 x Corsair AF 120mm Blue LED and finally 1 x Kingston Hyper X RAM cooler. Cabling (Not complete yet): some Bitfenix Alchemy Multisleeved cable . Extras: Bitfenix Recon fan controller, Lian-Li 5.25" bay Hdd and ODD combo and Deepcool 4 to 1 fan adaptor. Future thoughts: upgrading all the cabling, replacing the 2 H110 fans with the new Corsair SP 140mm LED fans and replacing the PSU. Answers: Yes i will be overclocking the CPU, GPU and RAM hence the H110, H105 and RAM cooler. Yes my cable management needs to be looked at. Yes i would like some thoughts on the fan setup in the front of the chassis with the 2 140mm LED fans been in front of the H105 (lots of debate on whether fan on fan is good or bad). I will be posting better pics when i get a proper camera to use, sorry just couldn't wait.
