  1. You should update the bios on the card. Go to the ASUS website and they have it there in a .exe file. I had this exact same problem and card and that fixed it for me.
  2. That's my understanding as well. It's varying the refresh rate of the monitor. So if you have 60 FPS your monitor will be at 60Hz, if you have 35 FPS the monitor is at 35Hz. The question is, if the monitor is running at 35Hz to match the FPS when FreeSync is enabled, would it be the same as say having a normal monitor running at 35Hz as far as your eyes are concerned. Or would you have the same viewing experience as if it were a standard 144Hz monitor. If that's the case wouldn't that cause massive strain on your eyes? You say you can tell the difference between 100Hz and 120Hz so imagine gaming at 35Hz. EDIT: Clarification.
  3. Slightly off topic here, but I was curious how FreeSync at low FPS effects your eyes. My eyes tend to be overly sensitive to low refresh rates on monitors and if I understand the technology correctly the monitors refresh rate syncs with the current FPS. So if I'm running FreeSync and my FPS is at 35 would I notice any sort of eye strain?
  4. Thinking of purchasing this monitor myself. How are your first impressions so far? For single GPU setups I think 90Hz upper cap is perfectly resonable (and seeing as there isn't support for CF atm). You'd expect people to have a 290/290X to drive this thing, and with max settings and AA I doubt you'd get over 90FPS at 1440p in most modern games.
  5. The numbers and letters seem fairly standard though right? I've only heard that the bottom row is non-standard.
  6. I don't need the entire set replaced, just the letters and numbers are fine
  7. I kinda specified Dutch websites, but thanks for the links. My payment method isn't valid outside of the Netherlands.
  8. Hello! I'm looking for some advice on where I can purchase a set of replacement keys for my G710+. Some have become lose/broken so nothing fancy, preferably just an exact replacement. If possible I need them available in the Netherlands. Thanks!
  9. I recently did this very same upgrade about 2 weeks ago. I can say without a doubt that my system is noticeably faster, surprisingly so in fact. Loading times are faster, game performance and FPS is higher (especially in WoW), and my system now feels a lot smoother overall. If you have the spare cash then I'd 100% recommend going for it. EDIT: This is combination with the same R9 280X I had before the upgrade.
  10. I'm currently using two sets of the Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHZ Dual Channel in my system. Timings and frequency are exactly the same and have had no issues what so ever. As long as they're the same model I don't see a problem.
  11. Holy shit. The cringe is real. I use the pea method for AMD. Haven't had an Intel chip yet so can't comment, though from what I've read the 'line' method is better.
  12. That's good to know. I'll take it with a grain of salt though as it'll differ from user to user. Also curious as to whether my Cosair Vengeance 1866mhz RAM will be viable in a new system. Would it be worth getting newer RAM with higher frequencies? Or just stick with these and have tighter timings.
  13. Currently using an Asus R9 280X which I intend to overclock. What GPU did you have in your FX-8320 setup?
  14. So you noticed a considerable difference when switching? That's interesting. Obviously it'll differ from user to user but that's quite a difference from what you're saying. Considering that I'd have to invest in a new motherboard with my current system anyway if I wanted to overclock I think I'll go for the Intel setup. Also, can anyone confirm whether or not the Z97 boards are compatible with the Broadwell? I found some information that suggested they are compatible but it was more speculation than hard evidence.
  15. Thanks for all the help. I'll update with what I decide to do for those who are curious.
  16. Here's the issue, if I was to keep my current setup I'd get a new motherboard as I've had issues with my current board. Spending 150 euros on a new AM3+ board that offes no future proofing seems like a waste of money to me. Would I be right in assuming the Z97 is future proof with the Broadwell chips?
  17. I do use OBS. Intel Gigabit Ethernet "supposed" to be better? In real world terms I guess that means there will be unnoticeable differences between that and my Realtek controller I have at the moment.
  18. Bear in mind I do stream as well from time to time. Also frapsing/encoding. Would an i5 still be up to par?
  19. As far as the new features go I would likely get a new SSD at some point so getting an M.2 compatible one might be an option. What's the deal with the Intel Gigabit Ethernet? Is it a new feature?
  20. Thanks for the speedy replies. As with all technology waiting for the newest products is a futile exercise as there's always something better around the corner. The idea with building the new rig was to have it somewhat future proof and I feel investing in a new motherboard for the AM3+ (which, if I do stay with what I currently have, is what I tend to do) would be a waste of money. The main game I play is World of Warcraft which, if what I'm led to believe is true, is very CPU intensive. I do play RTS games and a fair amount of FPS games.
