  1. If I remember correctly, Linus (and lots of other people) say that cheaping out on your psu is a great way to kill the components in your pc. How? I don't know exactly. But we are not exaggerating. Just think wisely, would you rather but a slightly more expensive psu that is from a popular name-brand comany or would rather buy a whole new pc due to what the crappy psu can do to it.
  2. With a removable motherboard tray, (I don't know) but I could imagine being costly compared to a non-removable one. I was suggesting a mid tower case that can also hold an EATX mobo. When I said "something like the S340, I wasn't referring to the fact that HDD bays be located in the basement. I just meant the general size.
  3. Thanks for the info, I'll really have to consider what to get
  4. I'm waiting til Monday to purchase a monitor so I'll think about it til then. And I didn't know that I wouldn't have to change it like that. What scaling issues are there in 4k?
  5. Thank you all for the quick responses and for your help! I really appreciate it!
  6. Since neither of you see a difference as well, I'm going to get the MG248Q as I would save $60US (and it includes a DP cable! Yay!). If I really wanted good colors, I would just buy an IPS monitor. As for the mounts, I like both of them but that isn't going to be my deciding factor.
  7. I didn't know that LoL supported 4k, I thought you had to change the resolution in one of its installation documents. Anyways, I know that the scaling is really bad, which is why I don't want to buy one now. I will buy one in the future when they eventually address and fix the scaling. I really wanted to try LoL in 4k too because I know the detail would be stunning
  8. When I was looking at the case, I did notice that the res could go next to the psu where the HDDs are, but then you have to sacrifice your HDDs
  9. My question is pretty much the title. I posted a topic a few days ago about purchasing a 4K monitor, but found that LoL doesn't support 4K I still play CS GO and other shooters, so having a higher refresh would benefit me. I have now decided to get a high refresh rate 1080P monitor and I'm about to purchase either of these. As far as I can tell, these monitors are pretty much the same: 1080P, 1ms response time, TN, 144Hz. If I missing something that separates the two, please let me know. The Asus is $290 while the Benq is $350 so I was thinking about buying the Asus. So really, I just want to know if there is a difference in the two and what your recommendation would be. Thanks
  10. I was thinking of buying the 400C because it can fit a 360 but then I was like, 'where do i put the res?' lol Just blend the 400C with the S340
  11. I'm a bit late to this thread but here's what I have to say: I think it's really cool that you want to start a business creating cases. I want to make my own but have no idea how to lol. I saw tempered glass: lot's of people like it but it more costly, i would wait til you get a design figured out and can estimate the cost of the case. If you want it to be more affordable, glass is recommended I don't care if I had tempered glass, so idrc Motherboard tray: great idea, see how much it costs as compared to the norm Here's what I would want: ATX mobo support (E-ATX wouldn't hurt though), a basement for the psu, something small like an s340 but can fit a 360rad in the front!, room next to the mobo for a reservoir, easy to install psu's are nice, Here's a major thing (i dont think it would hurt) a case that has more room for cables behind the mobo tray so that I don't have to struggle to fit the side panel on! This is an extremely minor one, but on some mobo's, they have 90degree usb plugs, so access along the basement to pass cables right in front of the mobo would help Hope this helps your ideas
  12. You only said 'ATX' case, so I'm assuming you have an ATX mobo but you haven't said whether you want a full or mid tower. For a full tower: Corsair 600C (if you're feeling venturous), Basement? No! It has an attic! As well as a full glass side panel! For something a bit smaller, the Corsair 400C works as well as the NZXT S340
  13. Thanks for the response. Ironically, when I checked the prices on amazon, the IPS was $50US cheaper, probably because of the size difference. I'll have to look into the scaling of League now. I don't feel like investing that amount of money if it is difficult to use some of the features in the game.
  14. Hey everyone! So I'm in the market for a new monitor and I would really like a 1440p monitor but feel that they are too expensive for what I would want ($600+). So I started looking into some 4K monitors and cannot decide on which one to get. I have been looking at the Dell S2817Q and the Dell P2415Q. The differences I see are size which doesn't bother me. However the S2817Q has a TN panel but a 2ms response time while the P2415Q has an IPS panel but a 6-8ms response time. I mainly play League of Legends which is why I would want a 4K monitor over a monitor with a high refresh rate. Back to the two monitors, I don't know if 6-8ms is too slow even for LoL (please let me know if it is), but at the same time I do like the idea of it being smaller (my desk isn't too big) and it being an IPS panel. If you have any other monitor recommendations, please feel free to let me know. Thanks in advance!
  15. For your first question, the SMA8 (hopefully you know this) has two chambers: the top where most of the components are and the bottom where the psu, extra drive bays, etc sit. The mid-plate is what separates these two chambers. A solid mid-plate is just what it says: it's solid. The 120.3 mid-plate has holes cut out so that you could install 3 120mm fans in the middle. As for the second question, I cannot answer as I do not own the case to be able to determine if it could fit. Good luck with your decision! It's a very nice case and I would buy one if I could afford one and had the desk space for it. Hope this helps!
