  1. I haven't had any issues with Solidworks crashing, and even moving a simple part causes Solidworks to lag. I will try to reinstall and see if that does anything.
  2. Hey guys, So I am trying to run Solidworks on my 2016 Razer blade laptop and I am running into some strange performance issues. When I started a new part it takes several minutes for the screen to load the part view, then when it is finally loaded all of the tools are extremely sluggish, sometimes lagging by a full second. I have tried changing some of the 3D graphics settings through the Nvidia control panel to make sure SolidWorks is using the 970m. However, this still didn't work. Has anyone else had issues with this?
  3. I haven't bought them yet.I was considering these 970s on newegg. Do you know what models are compatible? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487088
  4. Thanks for catching me there. I meant to list the EX360. Also thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it, and I didn't really take sound into consideration when I put this together so thanks for saving my ears!
  5. Hi everybody, Thank you for all the great responses, just a quick question. This system is going to kick off about 500-550 watts. Could anybody tell me if running with this rad at 2000 rpm be better/ more cost effective than running with two smaller rads at a lower RPM? Just want to know what is more widely accepted, as this rad is rated at 500 watts at 2000 rpm.
  6. I originally posted this over on tomshardware, but it didn't get any responses. Hopefully I can get a better response here. So here goes nothing. Hello everyone, I'm looking for some advice and pointers on a build that I am planning to put together for somewhere around $2,000. This is my first water cooling build, so please let me know what I'm going wrong/right. I have put together a few air cooled builds before this. I would like to build a custom water cooling loop, and over clock both the CPU and GPUs I've put together a list of parts, but I'm stumped on one thing, the case! Could anybody point out some good cases for a first time water cooler like myself? I would like to have a relatively small case, probably a mid tower. I don't want a super tower sitting next to my desk to dwarf everything next to it. If there is a more appropriate way/place to get a "seal of approval" for my build let me know. So without further rambling here are the parts I put together: (I apologize in advance for any unorthodox formatting, if there is anything I can to to make it better let me know!) Q - quantity CPU: Intel i5 4690k MOBO: MSI Z97S Krait edition GPU: GTX 970 (Q: 2) HDD: WD black 1TB 7200RPM SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250Gb (Q: 2) PSU: Corsair RM1000 RAM: Hyper X 4x4GB (16GB total) Case:? Pump: EK D5 or other D5 variant Radiator: EK XE360 Reservoir: EK-RES X3 250 Fans: SP120 (Q:3-6?) GPU Blocks: GTX 970 FC ACX (Q: 2) CPU Block: EK Supremacy EVO Fittings: compression black 3/8 (fill port for drain?) (Q: 11) Tubing: Clear flexible tubing 3/8 Coolant: distiller water + green dye (desired color: opaque neon green ) Please let me know if anything looks severely wrong. This is my first time making a custom loop and I would greatly appreciate any pointers and advice I can get. Thank's for contributing! EDIT: typos
  7. So I went to my local best buy to see the g502 and it turns out it is a perfect fit when I palm it. Thanks for all the help! And happy holidays!
  8. Don't work I have not forgotten! Just a little busy at the moment. Thank you everyone for all the suggestions, I will be looking over them. From the tips of my fingrs to the edge of my palm is approximately 6-7 inches. I don't know where that falls in hand size.
  9. Hay everyone, I am looking for the best mouse for Christmas. I know the word "best" is objective, but I want to know what you think would be the best fit for my usage. I would predominantly use this mouse for FPS games like Borderlands(classic, 2, and Pre-sequel), and Bioshock. I also like to play real time strategy games like Sid Meyer's Civilization. I also play Dota, Portal, and Dishonored. Just to give you an idea of my play style as I know different mice are better for different games. I want a mouse that is responsive and will last a long time. I am willing to spend as $70-80 on this mouse. Thank you so much in advance!
  10. I just recently subscribed to LinusTeckTips and I LOVE your content. At first I was only looking for a power supply recommendation, but I have found something so much better. Linus thanks for all your great content and keep it up! Oh.. And in case you were wondering I love the color green and those GTX cards in your video liked sick!
