I disappeared from technology a bit and now I am back, and while I am looking at www.pcpartpicker.com only 5 280xs's have prices listed, were they discontinued due to the 300 series?

If I only want to game at 1080p max settings 60fps, would I b better with the GTX 980 or GTX 970, I have seen some benchmarks that Crysis 3 drops to the high 30s FPS wise so I am not to sure which to choose...

If I heavily modded my skyrim, will the i7 4790k get me better FPS, or I am better going with the i5 4690k because I am at the edge of my budget. I have heard of mods that do several calculations at once so will the i7 be better for this?

I plan on buying this barebones kit http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=9494318&sku=B69-10297 And purchasing everything else I need separately so it should looks something like this (if the item is is $0, it comes with the kit and I put the entire cost or the kit on the cpu so I don't have to calculate how much is each component with the kit) http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZTVKnQ (I won't be buying this for a week so I am waiting for the asus strix gtx 980 to come out and I know the gpu I have selected is not the strix 980 but I put that gpu just so I can remember, if the strix 980 is not good, I am getting the gaming g1 windforce gtx 980 I believe it is called) I am curious if that case and PSU will be good enough for my build, I will more likely get the 300r but I am not to sure if I should keep that PSU and I don't know whether or not it is a good PSU. So should I keep the PSU and case from the kit to save money, or do I get the 300r and CX 600w? Plus, I might sell the CPU cooler for an EVO 212 because I would like to stick to air cooling.

I plan on buying a Corsair K70, I would like to use it for gaming and programming so I am looking at the Cherry MX Browns, I have heard that Blues is good for typing but bad for gaming and I heard that Reds are good for gaming but bad for typing. I have seen people complaining about the feet of the G502, if you have 1 or have had 1, did you have problems with the feet? I am looking for a headset with Surround 7.1 and a good mic, because I play a lot of CS:GO Competitive, for less than $80, if you know any good ones or decent ones, please tell me.

I plan on getting an SSD and fans in the future and I would like to put my OS on the SSD if that is not hard and have some of my steam games on the SSD and the rest on my HDD

This is my build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/W8ZdMp I plan on buying it at the tigerdirect store near me and if they don't have the part, I can but it online. I put the ASUS 980 because I plan on buying the ASUS Strix GTX 980 (I know the one I chose on Pcpartpicker is not the ASUS Strix 980) which is going to be around $600 other wise, I am getting the Windforce G1 Gaming GTX 980 unless you guys recommend a different one. I plan on playing games at 1080p max settings and once I get a new monitor in the future, I plan on playing at 1440p on games such as skyrim, bf3, bf4, Crysis 3, Dayz, and GTA V (only using 1 monitor). I also plan on making some minecraft mods in the future (which I am pretty sure can be done on this build) and some programming. I am looking for a different PSU if there is one for a similar price that is better and also possibly a different case. I do not want to pass $1700 Any suggestions are wanted and recommened.
