  1. Over here its never changed, even from the m50s till the m50x, its priced at $200, whereas the dt770 is around 175-200 depending on the seller. For amps, they are quite easy to drive, i got the 80 ohms version and even my iphone 5 can drive them up to slightly uncomfortable level, my pc also can do the same with side note: that newer mobo's can power this headphone quite easily compared to older ones.
  2. Go for Takstar Pro82, you can get it from aliexpress or amazon, they have a bass slider for him to fiddle around
  3. I know few people still recommending them, i mean they're okay if its cheaper like around $100 or less (ideally imo) but in my area, they're called like "holy grail" here and sold at $200 +/- whereas dt770 is around the same and sometimes cheaper here..
  4. Takstar pro82 (if you can find it) is a good deal imo for closed back (around $90-100 +/-) DT770 is also good and you can do a detachable cable mod to make it more versatile and increasing durability for the future. Or Stretch a little bit for this ATH-MSR7 (this is kinda flat and good option for monitoring purposes)
  5. Personally i feel spending alot for 7.1 virtual surround sound is not justified at all, especially in terms of gsx1000 which is kinda costly. Reasons why: 1. You can download it for free OR purchase the program for like $10-15 (dolby from windows store iirc) 2. Its a software oriented (back to point no. 1), hardware to simulate this is kinda waste of money. Yes, i can differentiate between the software but the difference are kinda marginal and games nowadays are improving with their surround sound capabilities from their own sound engine compared to the past. 3. There are better choices to improve your experience (like separate dac/amp ex: schiit fulla 2) and just download or purchase the program (point no.1) to compliment it. Not saying it sucks, its just my personally opinion tho. You can try point no.1 first then move up the ladder should you choose to.
  6. What about massdrop mic? its a copy of modmic at a cheaper price..
  7. Around $399 iirc. But will only be sold via massdrop. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/fostex-x-massdrop-th-x00
  8. I reckon TH-X00 might satisfy your itch..
  9. Nice setup. But just my 2cents, you know you can just plug in the modmic straight towards the motherboard? cos using the usb soundcard will not benefit you and will just add more un-necessary things.
  10. HyperX Cloud Core is a great option if you can get them. WAAAAAY better than Cloud Stinger. But with that being said, i will go for SHP9500+vmoda boompro, no gaming headset will come close to it period, with very very few exceptions, do note they are open back headphones so they will leak sound in and out of the headphone.
  11. In some places, the headphones you are looking for can sometimes be cheaper or at the same price of the Fulla 2. IIRC, i saw dt990 at $100-120 range (for a week) last year at Amazon US. With that being said, he meant, its not advisable to spend more on the amp than the cost of the headphone itself. Its better to get a better headphone than spending more on the amp/dac.
  12. Will wait for @Dackzy, but from my experience, ohm is not the absolute factor that determines the power you need to drive the headphones. Fostex T50rp mk3 are really fucking hard to drive for example and they are 50 ohms. You will get the idea once you drop into the pit of headphones
  13. For more immersion and great imaging while gaming i will go for DT990, great bass but with slight treble which not everyone can handle and for more laidback and overall use headphone i will get HD598., they are great for games too.
  14. Higher end cables for better sound? I don't think it will make a difference. Better quality materials and durability yes, but sound, i really don't think so..
  15. Haven't heard the HD380 but i can vouch for MSR7 if you want a more portable headphone with detachable cable, soundsig is neutral and a great monitoring headphone. DT770 comes fixed and long cable, sound sig is a fun V-shape with excellent sub bass if you're into EDM, dubstep etc. some people hate the treble, this will be my 2nd option.
  16. I might re-seat the VGA and also check whether Vsync is off cos you're capped at 60 iirc. Other than that, i'm out of suggestions, will wait till some dude help you out
  17. From your specs, the pc should be fine actually. Although the ram is kinda outdated with those speeds but still ok for gaming. A completely outside of the box opinion from my side, have you updated to the latest mobo bios? Oh and is the PC overheating? like no air circulation in the PC?
  18. Agreed. That's why i have my RHA for a reason But some people dislike IEM, so sometimes a portable headphone can be a deciding factor for their purchase..
  19. They are good headphones, but not at the current price. If its around $100 or less, then it will be a great headphone imo. The pricing is why people despise it. DT770 does a better job at the same or sometimes lower price but minus they are not as portable as the m50x.
  20. Or you can get like SHP9500 + vmoda boom pro. GSX1000 is not a necessity, its a plus but will not make you a god tier gamer. Some people like surround sound, whereas some people hate it cos it sounds so gimmicky and everything is done virtually through a software that you can download for free. But with that budget i think i will go for Philips X2 + vmoda boompro or K7xx + modmic and forget about the GSX1000. I respect your opinion, i don't want to be a snob but if you do have the time to go to some headphone audition place, bring along your headset and compare it to SHP9500 or HD518/558 or AD500X. Then you will get the idea of how bad gaming headsets sound in general. You're paying for the "gaming" tag, "cool" exterior and RGB lights more than the sound quality.
  21. I think AT2020 USB should be around your budget. Its a great mic.
  22. Another alternative is arctis 3, they are better than siberia 150 and stinger. They also can use the "7.1" feature if you're into those kind of stuff. The price should be similar with Cloud Core. Siberia 150 in general is trash, sorry to be harsh tho. Stinger is just slightly better imo. But if you're in a strict budget i would go for Cloud Core, Arctis 3, Stinger, in that order.
  23. I have a good feeling the cable is gone. With that being said there are lots of people who can repair/mod the headphones. If i were you, i will mod them into detachable cables, so that if it gets spoiled again, you just need to replace the cable or you can plug in a vmoda boompro if you're into those kind of stuff. Ask around, i'm quite sure some audio fanatic near your place can guide you to a audio modder.
