  1. I am thinking about building a mini-ITX rig. This would be even better.
  2. I have chosen this case because of my desk, otherwise I really like Node 304. I plan on upgrading my GPU, but I am going to wait for new stuff next year.... EVGA PSU looks good but they still do not have it in stock where I shop, is it really that much better than Seasonic? (My current PC is i3-2120, 4GB of RAM, r7 260x....)
  3. Hi guys, I have decided to get rid of my old PC. I´ll reuse only HDDs and GPU (R7 260x). So far I have come up with this: BITFENIX Prodigy Mini-ITX GIGABYTE H170N-WIFI - Intel H170 Intel Core i5-6500 SilentiumPC Spartan PRO HE924 Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2666 Seasonic SSR-550RM 550W NZXT RF-FZ20S-R1, 200mm Transcend MTS800, M.2 - 128GB Budget is aprox. 700 € Any suggestions?
  4. So far I am set on r7 260x, my monitor is slowly dying and I would like to get something with FreeSync (I usually stay with one monitor until it stops working). Thanks for your input guys
  5. Really? This CPU could handle likes r9 270 or 750Ti? The thing is I never had CPU with hyper-threading so I have no idea what impact it has on gaming (especially today when 4 core CPU is minimum system requirement). As to how much I am willing to spend, that depends on whether it will be able to power some of the recent games ( DA Inqusition comes to mind for example) if thats the case I´d have no problem with getting r9 270, if not than I would settle for something cheaper and work my way through my steam-library backlog :-) FYI the PSU is Fortron (I know not the best but it could be much worse)
  6. Hi, I got my hands on a PC with this CPU and it´s rocking passive 9600gt which is overheating quite easily. I don´t feel like spending money on a new cooler or something like that. Instead I am considering a new GPU for gaming at 1680x1050. My PSU is 450W. What GPU would you suggest? I do not have fixed budged, I may try to get new or used.... I am more interested in your opinion of which card would it fit best. Thanks
  7. OK, thanks for your time. I´ll get that one.
  8. Looks good, I have been going throuh used cards and I came upon this http://www.alzashop.com/sapphire-r9-270x-dual-x-oc-boost-d484423.htm for 120 euros, still with 1/2 year warranty. Looks like a good deal doesn´t it?
  9. Something like that would be great, but ordering from abroad is not favourable thx to national bank intervention and various taxes on such things. This is my favourite e-shop in my country www.alzashop.com (set shipping to some euro using country, for example germany). So my budged in euros is about 230 or 130 euros (incl. VAT)
  10. Well about 250$, for GPU upgrade now and next year only monitor. If I could get something around 150$ which would play games well on 1680x1050 (for about a year), I should be able to sell it for at least 1/2 the price next year (still with a one year warranty) and get something new from AMD or NV and new monitor at the same time.
  11. GTX 760 is not worth the money they are asking for it, r9 270x is faster and where I live cheaper. I really do like 970, but it just costs too much for my liking, I mean there are times when I play less than 10 hours a month, so in my mind such an "expensive" card is not particularly good investment. In my country costs are like this: 750 ti starts at 3500,-, 760 at 6000,-, r9 270 at 4500,- r9 270x 5200,- and gtx 970 at 9000,- (czk) EDIT: I may not have comunicated this through well, with 2nd and 3rd option I would buy both monitor and some more powerfull GPU.
  12. HI guys, my first topic here, so I hope this is a correct section. One of the fans on my r9 270 died and suprisingly i got a full refund instead of a repair (no complains ). Because of the fact that I have no time for gaming during summer, I have been using integrated GPU ever since. But now it´s time for a new card. I´m running i5 4440, 8 gigs of ram, 550W psu on resolution 1680x1050. Next year I want to upgrade my monitor to something with adaptivesync support (maybe G-sync but I am not sure that I want to lock my GPU upgrades to one brand because of my monitor, I mean I stick with one monitor for quite a long time), 1440p tops. I am not quite impressed by r9 285 and gtx 970 is well beyond my budget, so waiting for gtx 960 is one option (atleast it should force AMD to drop prices a bit, if nothing else), 770 still costs the same despite nvidia´s price drop (Czech Republic) so that is not an option either. Another option would be to get another 270 or perhaps 750 ti (costs aproximately 25% less). Or the last option would be to buy some used crapy card and switch it with the hd 5770 in my old computer, that I gave to my parents (they do not game so they wouldn´t notice any difference), but I am not sure that this card is enough for current games. I don´t want to play with low details (if I am "wasting" time with playing computer games, than at least it should look good :-)) What do you guys think? thx for opinions
  13. ^^ What about 8800GT -> 9800GT or 9800gtx+ -> GTS250? Both companies have done it long before GTX 7xx and RX 2xx....
  14. It may sound weird, but I am really glad that Elric from Tech of Tomorrow was unable to get his hands on reference R9 290x, thanks to that video I came across your channel. Subcriber from then on
