So at this point I have read a few post here and else where that sort of answer my question but not exactly, but if I missed a post that answers my question more or less a link will do in lieu of an answer. Begin Ramble: I can afford 16 gigs of ram or an i3-4something right now or an i5-4something soonish or an i7-4something never what upgrade will give me the best performance boost immediately the other will happen asap but not for a few months, right now 3-4 mostly text tabs in Firefox another window with a vessel video, Thunderbird and sometimes a Microsoft update (sometimes no update) slow things down so much the video audio can be 10 sec or more ahead of the stuttering picture part of this I'm sure is that I need to reinstall windows10, I use this machine for some surfing and light game play but primarily to learn blender unity3d and visual studio so any of these and a lynda vessel youtube video need to run at the same time usually. End Ramble(I think). My question is to be clear, the upgrade for best immediate speed boost for my machine replace CPU(g3220) or Ram(1 x Kingston HyperX 4gb ddr3-1600)? I have an ssd and my Radeon hd 5770 seems ok. Thanks. p.s. how long spent rendering/compiling is not a concern at this time. yay first question posted on this site, wonder what I did wrong? did I miss any info?

I like the size of it, whether I give it away to my Mom Dad Grandmother or Nephews, or use it as a HTPC console replacement pfSense box or as my desktop computer the size of that much power is a bonus.

right now I am broke so I would probably give it to my dad and when I failed at that I would let it collect dust until someone in my family (or me) had the cash and need for a new computer. If I had the board and ram for this though I would use it to make my amateur unity/blender/c# work faster.

Good work. Found Linus and his tech tips trying to understand water cooling and since then have been grinding through the whole collection learning new stuff, it's surprisingly relaxing watching someone get payed to play with expensive stuff, especially with the lack of my favourite attention grabber slow motion explosions. p.s. are there explosion? it seems like there should be explosions for something like this.
