  1. So the brand doesnt matter? As long as theyre both R9 280s? Also wouldnt an R9 280x be different to a R9 280? ARE YOU SAYING I CAN CROSSFIRE MY R9 280X WITH A R9 280?!?!??!
  2. Im going to use a i5 4590 which yeah doesnt support any overclocking at all Also i will be using a one 240GB SSD for OS and BF4 and 1TB WD Black for everything else so no raid for me i just cant afford dual or triple SSDs or HDDs
  3. OH YAY! Im going to use a i5 4590 for the cpu which pretty much performs better than his 4570 so this should be perfect! thanks man!
  4. Ive heard some pretty bad stuff about B85 chipsets and thier limitations. Could someone give me a heads up on the cons of this motherboard? its a "MSI B85-G43 Gaming Motherboard" heres what it looks like; Im going to pair this with a "MSI Radeon R9 280 Gaming 3GB" Will this "B85" chipset hinder my gaming performance? Looking to play Battlefield 4 on ultra on 1080P at atleast 50 ~ 60 FPS average. Is this achievable?
  5. ah ok makes sense, im not rich though, ill be happy with this one graphics card alone thanks alot!
  6. The question still exists though, Do all motherboards technically go with any graphics cards that you throw in?
  7. Technically speaking all motherboards should be able to handle any GPU right? CPU: i5 4590 Motherboard: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=27614 Graphics card: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=26094 All 3 of this components would go together without any problems right? Ive been hearing alot of problems in terms of AMD and the compatibility issues they have. also there was another motherboard where the compatibility list for the GPUs listed all the R9 2 series GPUs but it skipped the R9 270X. does that mean it doesnt actually support the R9 270x?
  8. okay! Im open to all opinions and suggestions Im just trying to get some feedback on what i can improve on in terms of products prices and performance to price ratio and stuff like that Thank you though! I thought this build was actually good enough already but i guess there are better options for this budget!
  9. hahaah thanks for the feedback gguys! Im looking into this! Thanks for the suggestion!
  10. So guys I have a new build, mainly a $200 upgrade from my current system. A mate of mine offered to buy my current gaming pc at $1250, and i built it for ~$1000 so i got the $250 profit and i need to build another pc anyway or i wont have anything to play games on. I mainly play Battlefield 4! The Products that ive chose have already reached my budget of $1250 so i wont be able to go any higher than what is on this product list so yeah New build specs: CPU: i5 4950 Motherboard: MSI B85-G43 Gaming Motherboard GPU: Gigabyte radeon R9 270x OC 2GB RAM: hyperx Fury 8GB CPU cooler: corsair H55 Storage: 1tb WD black PSU: Couger PowerX 700W 80+ bronze Optical Drive: Asus 24x DVD writer Wifi card (router is not in my room): TP Link wireless N PCI Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Case White Case Dust filtering: DEMCI flex NZXT phantom 530 filter kit LED: NZXT 2M white Cables: Bitfenix sleeved white 24 pin and 6 pin VGA and Im looking to play battlefield 4 on ultra settings with atleast 50 FPS and ill be happy atm the build costs $1243
  11. Congratulations on hitting 1 million subscribers guys~! i knew it would happen anyway.. the content on your channel is just unparalleled. I was introduced to your channel about 2 - 3 months ago by a friend because i needed help with building my gaming pc, your videos helped me out ALOT! Since then ive been watching all of your build guides and most of the techquickie videos, and when i have the time i watch the WAN show! I would say im a huge fan of your youtube channel, if i want to learn about something lets say about RAID0 and how it works, first thing id do, search up "Linustechtips 'RAID0'" on the youtube search bar and.... chances are you wouldve already made a video about it which is great! I would say my favourite style of videos from you and your team are build guides I know theyre time consuming to create but theyre just top notch videos! Also because im not too rich and cant really afford high end products like 780Ti's or Titans, Id say to Review more of the mid range graphics cards like 760's or R9 270x's and also lower end mid tower cases like the phantom 240 you dont need to switch from high end product reviews to suddenly mid range stuff but it would be great to include a few reviews here and there about the mid range products~ ps. i like noodles! *fingers crossed*
  12. You dont really need one but its good to have one, lets say you're buying a game online and the size of the content youre downloading is 50GB (forza or something), might as well buy the CD version from the shops instead of waiting a day to download the game. Thats when youll realised that a optical drive will come in handy. then you can just install it from the disc or maybe someone you know wants you to RIP songs from a CD to a USB stick for them, optical drive with come in handy then too they arent even expensive, i built my pc a week ago and bhought a $25 ASUS optical drive to install windows 8.1. Its not expensive, id say to get one.
  13. Hey man, with your 3 options, yes i would reccomend you go with the MSI option, it will have better cooling solution im sure
  14. When you want to render stuff, Id reccomend you think about getting a decent graphics card instead of cpu performance. Yes hyperthreading will help!
