I want to work in IT someday, and I want to start the learning process now. I know a fair amount about basic home networking, and how it all works, but I want to further my knowledge on the subject. Where would I get started, is there a recommended book or website for me to go to to learn the ropes (or cords for that matter).

Which CPU should I use?
pikkie-mahn-mastah replied to DolphinOps's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I don't think he has a budget, he just has two CPUs and wants to know what one to put in a system. -
Which CPU should I use?
pikkie-mahn-mastah replied to DolphinOps's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
based on Slick's cores for gaming video, 4 cores (with or without hyper threading) is the sweet spot for games. I'm guessing this build is for games, right? or is it just a desktop for normal use. -
My first build, based on AMD.

you should really try going for the fx-8350, it could help you out, that's the CPU I have, it works like a dream for me. -
I bought 23 CPUs off craigslist for $20 for all of them, I've tested them and they all work. I bought them out of impulse because it was such an amazing deal. They are all (18)Pentium D's and (5)Pentium 4's. I now want to build a server or (not so super) super computer. But I don't know where to get started or how to do it. Anyone got any articles or how to's or anything on making one of these. EDIT: I also bought 7 Intel Xeon W3503 for $20 from the same guy, anything I can do with those?

I will be upgrading to a 3 monitor setup, and I thought I might as well make it in with a vesa mount. I will be having 2 25" monitors on the left and right and a 29" ultra wide in the middle. The two side ones are 100mm x 100mm for vesa mounting and the ultra wide is 75mm x 75mm. What are some of the best options for versa mounts?

I'm trying to place a 128GB flash drive I had laying around into a netgear n600 I had after I upgraded my internet. My cousins have little kids that come over some times and love to watch kids stuff like Disney and Bernstein bears and stuff. Of course, all the old stuff like the old Disney shows are no longer being played. But, being kids, they like to watch the same stuff over and over again. Now, I would like to make a network NAS with the 128GB flash drive filed with all the videos and shows to stream to my tablet. Which would ensure they wouldn't click off or watch anything else on you tube. It would also be a pretty cool "project" and in my situation would be cheaper then a personal cloud. Does anyone know how to set one up?

Is the Corsair H75 Pull Compatible
pikkie-mahn-mastah replied to Appleboy45's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
the meaning of push pull is that they are on either side of the radiator working together... -> | -> like that... pull means that it is on the side the air is ending at... it is pulling it THROUGH the radiator. push is she it is beginning to go through the radiator for cooling... it is PUSHING the air through it. NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER allow both fans to blow In opposite directions I.E. -> | <- or. <- | ->. if you want, look at the fans, they should have arrows on them indicating on which way the air will be moving through it... I personally suggest pulling outside air into the radiator and into the case to bring in cooler air... hope this helped -
Im looking for a smaller car than my current one (Corsair HAF X) and it needs to fit an ATX board, have noise dampening foam, and lots of cable management holes and space behind the board. I've seen the define series and a few corsair cases, but I want to find a perfect one, any recommendations?
