  1. As much i would like too, her school starts in 3 weeks
  2. So im helping a friend build a computer, She has a pretty tight budget of $1000 Cad for the whole computer. She needs a monitor, keyboard, wireless card, plus the computer in that budget. Although i have a copy of windows 10 She would prefer a smaller pc, like a micro atx build. She is doing a design coarse that is mainly using Revit and some other autocad programs i've been out of the loop when it comes to pc parts the last year so any help would be appreciated.
  3. Nope not in Calgary. We live just outside of wpg
  4. So my friend has $1000 Canadian to spend for a complete system. My friend already has a case (corsair 540) Cpu (i5 4670k) and a mobo (msi z87 gd-65) but he still needs a monitor, mouse, keyboard and the rest of the computer. Would definitely prefer to buy from Newegg, ncix, or memory express. I could really use some suggestions.
  5. Don't get a 750ti if your planing on upgrading in the near future. Get a 760+ or the amd alternative. You said you liked the drivers for nvidia, But there are only 3 main advantages imo. 1. Shadowplay. its very nice to record your game play but there is other alternatives 2. G-sync: Really sweet technology but right now you couldn't fit it in your budget (if there were any to buy) 3. Game streaming: nvidia sheild is awesome but it costs 250+ 3.5 Game optimization: nice but how hard is it to figure out your graphics settings *amd has something called Gaming evolved app dont know much about it but it supposed to reward you for playing games + it has Game optimization and recording. Getting a 760 should give you 20+ fps in most games (compared to a 750ti) source: www.overclockersclub.com If you are willing to go to the $900 dollar mark as you just said then my recommendation is: PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2Z2E9 CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($119.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($53.99 @ Newegg) Memory: A-Data XPG V2 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($68.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($66.98 @ Newegg) Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($324.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($39.99 @ Microcenter) Power Supply: Antec TruePower Classic 550W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply ($69.99 @ Newegg) Monitor: Acer H236HLbid 60Hz 23.0" Monitor ($149.99 @ NCIX US) Keyboard: Logitech Wireless Combo MK270 Wireless Standard Keyboard w/Optical Mouse ($19.99 @ B&H) Total: $904.90 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-02-24 00:12 EST-0500) save yourself the 150+ dollars on buying a 750ti if you were planing to upgrade later and buy what you want now.
  6. i could afforded it. its a much nicer board but i would still go with a 4770k or a 4670k +60gb ssd over a 9370
  7. why would i get a 9370 right now when the 4770k is $315 compared to the 9370 @ $308? Also smaller ssd for a more expensive motherboard that has some negative reviews with it not working, not to mention looks like crap. edit: looks alot worse on the newegg website but better in the box.
  8. just editing game play footage for the most part and might help my sister with some wedding video editing. I'll be using power director 11 for games and probably adobe premiere pro. It would be nice for some more ram but i dont want to spend the money. About the case i dont mind that the radiator sticks out a bit not the biggest deal but the handles on the top are nice. i dont really like the amd option the motherboard has had some problems according to reviews and im not a big amd fan
  9. 1. Budget & Location $1000-1100 CAD and the preferred site is newegg.ca 2. Aim For gaming and a little bit of video editing 3. Monitors I have a BenQ GW2450 (24" 1080p) and would like to get another but not right now. 4. Peripherals i got it all 5. Why are you upgrading? My friend wants to buy my old system for $500. I have been looking to build my own for a while now and want to upgrade from my phenom II x6 1055t. I already have a GTX 760 and a WD 1TB hard drive What my current build is planned to be. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/2a2vx some of my ideas behind the parts: I went with the 4770k because its an i7 and thanks to black friday sales its 50ish more than a 4670k H100i because its amazing MSI GD65 was less than $20 more than the msi g-45 and i like the features of the mobo adata ram because its running at 2400hz and i like adata products 840 evo ssd because its on sale and i heard good things about samsung ssds I like the storm scout 2 looks and the good cable management 750W just encase i want to go sli and for overclocking i got a 760 in the summer because my other graphics card (4850 x2) started to crash alot i do plan on going sli in the spring when i have more money set aside for it I would prefer to go with intel over amd. So where could i improve/change in my build?
