Sooo just to get some more opinions on this, should I RMA my GPU? -

I don't know whether that helps in any way but the PC never pulls any more than 300 Watts from the wall -

Ok guys, I need your help. But first of all look at this so you know what I'm talking about. It all started when I got my brand new graphics card (ASUS Strix-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5). I installed it and everything seemed to work fine. But then the problems started. As you can see in the pictures these weird distortions started to occur. At first it was just a little annoyance but it soon became more common. It ended in me having to restart my computer multiple times until Windows would start properly. sometimes I just got a black screen upon startup, sometimes my display driver didn't load (I guess), sometimes windows said it didn't load properly. When after what felt like a gajillion times of restarting everything actually loads these distortions start to appear and they get worse until my screen becomes unresponsive for a few seconds and then windows says something like "Display driver didn't respond and was recovered". I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling different versions of the nvidia graphics driver. I even did a fresh windows install out of desperation. I just want to play video games and not worry about anything :C My system specs: CPU: Intel i7 3770K GPU: ASUS Strix-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 Mainboard: MSI Z77A-G43 RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz (4x4) Drives: 1 2TB HDD, 64GB SanDisk SSD (Windows is installed on this one) PSU: 600W besilent StraightPower Thanks in advance for any help Oh and by the way excuse my english I'm not a native speaker ^^

I'm gonna try that thanks. Maybe to fix the problems you have to do a fresh install? I'll try that too.

Or better its Not exactly happening the Same way. Now I just get a black screen instead of my pc restarting.

Aaaand it started happening again *sigh*

@ind3x I played Borderlands 2 for several hours yesterday and it didn't crash a single time. Also played cs go, didn't crash either. As you may have already noticed I'm not a professional computer type of guy and can't really tell what it was I did that solved the problem but I can tell you what I think fixed it. At least it will be worth a try. I uninstalled all my graphics drivers with display driver uninstaller (The ones from the integrated graphics included). Also I set my the primary graphics setting in the bios to peg (pci-e graphics). My graphics card then popped up as an unknown device in device manager. From there I just had to do a fresh install of the nvidia graphics driver. Feel free to correct me if I said anything wrong. Hope this helps

We'll see whether it still crashes but all I really did to make my pc detect my card again was plugging it in and out a bunch of times, deinstalling and reinstalling a bunch of drivers over and over and changing some settings in my bios back and forth. So as you can see that's not really any advanced technical method ^^. I'm still going to inform you whether the crashes are still occurring though if you want me to. Also what I'd like to know is what manufacturer you card is from and whether you sent it to them or to the shop you bought it from.

Through some magical wizardry I got my Pc to detect the graphics card again (maybe I was just to stupid to do it right before?). I will see whether it still crashes but at least I can use my pc again without having to use the integrated graphics ^^
-
I am pretty sure its a Problem with the graphics itself (at least for me). I haven't gotten around to cleaning it yet (we don't have isopropyl) though so that's still an option. If it actually is my graphics card do you think I can rma it?
-
I already looked for that and didn't find it anywhere in my bios. But since my pc doesn't even detect my graphics card that doesn't really matter right now
-
But still. If anyone can say with certainty whether it's a problem with my graphics card or whatever else I'd be happy already

The card Is very long amd if i put it into another PCIe slot it will block off the SATA ports. I could try to Do it and fit at least 1 SATA connector in there but that would obviously Not be a long Term fix

I deinstalled my graphics card (physically removed it) and ran my PC without it. That worked fine and my PC didn't crash while playing (Borderlands 2). It lagged terribly though (obviously). But after reinstalling my graphics card I ran into a new major problem. My PC doesn't detect my graphics card anymore and I can now only run it with the integrated graphics. I have already tried deinstalling all graphics drivers with DDU. That didn't help either. The gpu doesn't show up in the device manager either. I tried connecting the stock cooler to the graphics card to see whether it turned on and it actually did. Any ideas?
