Then just go for the gigabyte m6900. I have been playing with it for over a year and some day i'm gonna upgrade to a better mouse. But there were always more important things for me to upgrade so i'm still using it. And it served me well.
Not build in, so if you disable enhance pointer precision in windows you're good to go. But i think if you had a good quality mouse before you're gonna dislike it. But if you didn't you're gonna be satisfied with it just like i'm.
So the only real benefit of the xeon for me is that i could get it right now. But i don't really see a problem in waiting 2 weeks. The work/game ratio would be 50/50. I think i'm gonna go for the i7 4790k.
So i want to upgrade my cpu and motherboard.
I really want a mini Itx build so its easier to carry it around.
I will be gaming on it but also 3d cad software.
So the first thing i came up with was this.
I7 4790K
Asus Z97i-plus
430 euro's
But then i found this:
Gigabyte GA-H81N-D2H
Intel Xeon e3-1231 V3
300 Euro's
The Gigabyte supports the haswell refresh right out of the box.
If i would get the 4790K i would overclock it but its not something i would consider a must.
Any of you got some thoughts on this that can help me choose?
The price difference is 160 USD.
My advise would be to look for the m5a97 evo r2.0 because this one has the 6+2 powerphase. The 4+2 that the m5a97 r2.0 has wil get realy hot. But if you can't stretch your budget enough make sure you got decent airflow in your case en don't overclock to much.
7/10 because you only have 500gb and not a dedicated ssd for your os which would be nice. Really like the 970 tho.
FX 8320
Asus crosshair V formula-z
Crucial cheap 8gb 1600
Sapphire r9 290 With Gelid Solution ICY vision cooler
CM Storm Sniper
Samsung 840 500gb
Corsair cx750m
Acer G246HYL 3x
Corsair H55
Windows 8.1
OP there must be something wrong. My guess driver related because your cpu usage is way higher than mine while gaming. Mine stays somewhere between 40-50%. What motherboard are you using? Does it have decent powerdelivery?
