  1. Ok thanks for the heads up. What does it do.. the reverse spining fans from Twin Frozr V? Takes out dust from Heatsink?
  2. Indeed. That's why it' s called Direct Cooling 2.
  3. So DCII is out of option. What about the phantom from Gainward? They say the have award winning heat pipes? And what with the complains of Evga?
  4. Ok we have all seen these revolutionary GPU air cooling systems now. The question is for those who have tested the GPUs 100% workload @100% Fan Speeds. The reference card is the latest Nvidia GTX 980. No Liquid/Water Cooling. Air Cooling Only. So post the temps below and tell who is better? ATM : MSI Twin Frozr V? Asus Direct CUII? Gainward Phantom? Gigabyte Windforce? TBA : Evga ACX 2.0? Accelero Xtreme V? Gelid Icy Vision 3?
  5. There is no need for an SSD Really. Blazing speeds are for those who are IMPATIENT FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS. Here is the best bang for the buck : PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($223.99 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($28.65 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($137.99 @ NCIX US) Memory: Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($84.98 @ OutletPC) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($53.98 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 285 2GB STRIX Video Card ($259.99 @ Amazon) Case: NZXT Phantom (White) ATX Full Tower Case ($114.99 @ Micro Center) Power Supply: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($79.99 @ Amazon) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($86.98 @ OutletPC) Total: $1071.54 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-09-18 14:36 EDT-0400 Please note that the RAM will auto-oc to 1866mhz so you won't have problems with the i5's Turbo Boost v2. Since you say you are a noob, there is no point in OC. You have top-noch everything. For your money ofcourse. I recommend going with 1 monitor only @1080p, 144Hz is best gaming experience.. More than 1080p is just for fancy rich kids. *Whispers* You can save the OS money... if you know... *Whispers*
  6. There is really no need for a 2nd gpu. Wait for nvidia 900 series to release, price drop.... My personal : I'd go with a new mobo, probably MSI Gaming 5 and stick an i5 4790k on it. Everything else is super fine. Oh and i love the Be quiet! stuff
  7. How did i find LinusTechTips? Was dull back then and a friend suggested me this channel. With all the knowlage gained, i joined IT school. My favourite series or style of video on LinusTechTips? GPU Unboxing and custom designed builds from Linus. What product you would like to see us review in the future? I have no idea because no one knows the future. My favourite food? Pancakes So thanks for everything Linus, you learned me and all of us so much. You keep us up to date everyday explaining everything to detail. Hell, even making fun of dem items
  8. I came up with this. 9. Ok i was able to go +150MHz on Core Clock and Memory Clock. @+175Mhz it crashed Boosted the score up to 5879. Pretty impressive. Max temp was 79C. I think i can squeeze up to 155-160 MHz so i can get 5900 but i'll play with that later. Here are the results : http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/3847572 Now time to get that 5%ish from my CPU. I'll start as above with +25Mhz each time. I'm using Prime95 x64 to test it's stability. Also do you know why in the test results it shows up that it can go up to 3.4Ghz? It should go up to 3.6Ghz with Turbo Boost v2? Where is the 0.2Ghz? lol
  10. Ah i see. Yes the HDDs are plugged into 6GB/s Sata 3 ports. Actually i have 2x Hitachi 500GB HDDs So you guys are telling me oc an oc gpu lol. I'll try it. I've OCed before i know, GPU and CPU both, but i needed some pro tips. I'll post my 2nd results as i go as far as possibile with OC.
  11. Ok so here is my benchmark : http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/3847089 System Specs : CPU : i5 3470 3.2Ghz with Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Push/Pull Fan config. 55C max workload. GPU : Asus GTX 760 2GB GDDR5 DCII OC. 70C max workload. PSU : Cooler Master GX 650W 80+ Bronze MOBO : Asus P8 H61-M LX3 R2.0 RAM : 8GB RIPJAWS DDR3 1600MHz HDD : 2x Hitachi 500GB. LCD: Philips 234E5 23' 1080p LED, IPS-AH 60Hz OS : Windows 7 Home Premium x64 bit SP1 UPS : Power Tree S850E CASE : Diablotek Abyss ATX Midtower White Now how can i tweak more from my system to get better results? How can i overclock my CPU up to 4Ghz?? Do i need to disable turbo boost for that? BTW there is smth wrong here. The benchmark says ram is 800Mhz? WTF?
