  1. "The issue" i keep reciveing error 4101 in windows 10, "display driver has crashed and sucessfully recovered". Screen will go black for 1-2 seconds and come back. The issues never happen idle mostly happening when playing games. All system drivers, updates ect are up too date i have replaced or switched out most parts for testing with no success i have RMA the graphic card twice and also tried a amd 280x card it crashs aswell. I have replaced or switched every peice of hardware except the cpu. This crash happens randomly can go days fine then out of no where will crash many times. Specs I5 4690k Evga 970 ssc 1150 mobo asus 750 watt power supply -new power supply 16gb ram 1600 -changed out all ram Ssd 1tb hdd- new hdd Tried windows 7 and 10 P.s. 970 works fine on other pc No driver really helps might prolong the problem a bit, every peice or hardware was replaced at some point besides cpu. After probably a year of testing parts switch components and on phone with nvidia, microsoft. And doing all common trouble steps im losted for words. I believe now this issue is probably related to the 1150 socket i have read many other posts with simular hardware having the same issue. If anyone else has had this problem and resolved it would love to hear.
  2. So with GPUs out of stock and crazy prices i bought a alien ware r7 desktop had for a few weeks. I have 2 monitors My main display is a 27inch dell isp panel and my 2nd display is a 24inch acer for random multitasking My main display is going black randomly and coming back on when this happens i still see my 2nd monitors screen fine. Went into Event viewer i dont see anything related to gpu like display driver crash ect, i have changed the HDMI cable once already tried a few drivers currently on 391.01.' i guess my question is GPU issue or monitor going bad ? like i said PC is only 3weeks old i played Path of exile today for about 7 hours and out of no where black sceen however i have seen my monitor do this idle. Full PC specs i7 8700 16gb ram 2666 geforce 1080 2TB HDD Intel optan
  3. So ive been wanting to upgrade to ryzen 5 1600 or 1600x (probably X) but however my question is what motherboards support ryzen 5 without updating the bios, i was reading around seeing people couldnt post on motherboards with ryzen 5 without certin bios updates and the only way around was to install a ryzen 7 and update bios. im not sure if this is still a issue or not, just making sure before buying my upgrades. thanks .
  4. i flat out bought a new mobo and ram same crash tried a new power supply before changing mobo and ram same crash only these i have not tried are hard drive and cpu only usb devices are mouse and keyboard and wireless usb stick
  5. Only parts in my system that are old would be my power supply and HDD idk if i should replace and test this not sure.

  8. Okay First off i have posted this issue before without any suggestions that helped resolving my issue. ( this PC is haunted a swear ) The problem is Display driver and crashed and successfully recovered error 4101, the video card in question is the EVGA GTX 970 SSC. The crash is very random i could go days, weeks, fine without a crash and out of know where my pc will crash with this error many times a day or within a week period. Happens on many games so can't just rule out 1 game. Games i mainly play and have crashed at some point in time. Guildwars 2 Path of exile Diablo 3 Overwatch Dayz Steps preformed DDU tried Disk drivers , many other drivers now im sitting on 378.49 Tried new PSU ( returned it didn't solve my issue ) New Ram New Mobo Formatted many times even tried windows 7 instead of 10 Ran Furmark for hours without a Crash / gpu and cpu temps are fine Seatools checked SSD and HDD Tests passed Intel cpu diagnostic tool (everything passed ) Ran Memtest on new ram (4-5 hours Passed) mobo Bios updated to newest Cleaned pc real well new thermal paste on CPU Valley benchmark no crashes RMA GPU same issue on new one rx 280x (old card crashed every once and a while ) (Reason for 970 upgrade at the time ) (sold 280x so can't test again ) TDR delay ( this shit doesn't work ) Tested with Adia64 and cpuid hwmonitor Updated frimware on SSD and HDD PC specs i5 4690k (not overcloked ) EVGA GTX 970 ssc ( not overclocked ) 16 GB ram 1600 Asus b85 mobo 500gb HDD hitachi drive 120 GB SSD Kingston Drive WIndows 7 850 watt black window power supply dell 1920x1080 isp panel ( Main display) 2nd Display HP 1440x900 Both display are at 60 hertz So im lost at this point , Bad PC part ? , Nvidia drivers suck this bad ? time to say fuck it and rebuild ? not sure anymore from my end my PC is running normal and fine expect this crash randomly. I think i have pretty good knowledge on PCS but for whatever reason this Issue and stomped me for 6months + and can't seem to find a fix . anyways thanks for reading -Mason EDIT Valley scores Unigine_Valley_Benchmark_1.0_20170317_0936.html
  9. ive done that a few times im pretty sure its prossesed bro like i said its a weird issue
  10. Honestly i have no idea anymore this is by far the most annoying thing i can't solve, i feel like im pretty good at computer knowledge after 6+ months im really starting to think to rebuild. (even though PC seems fine ) Anyways i keep getting a Crash Known as Display Driver has crashed and successfully recovered. (error 4101 in event viewer ) Its very hard to pin point because the crash is so random i was on 372.70 driver for a while best one still crashes though. I have tried older drivers as well as newer drivers (yes i used DDU ) Updated bios Changed Ram New mobo Done the TDR delay crap that never works Switched from windows 10 to 7 (never know) Benchmarks run fine ( ran furmark ,Valley and others for hours without a crash ) Memtest (everything checks out fine ) Intel CPU test (tested fine after multiple runs ) Tried a new power supply ( crashed again return for my money back ) RMA my graphic card same issue with new card Messed with sound ( some say this can cause display crash) PC specs i5 4690k (not overclock Geforce GTX 970 ssc ( GPU isnt overheating ) 16gb DDR 3 1600 ram asus mobo thermaltake black widow 850 watt power supply 500gb hdd 120 gb sdd h100i cooler (temp seem fine ) windows 7 64bit Anyways if anyone knows anything else i can try besides the common things ive already done your help will be great appreciated.
