  1. GTX 1080 ti aorus <<< other than your 7.1 system this all u need. I have a similar setup using a Dolby Atmos Onkyo receiver. HDMI cable > 1080ti > receiver select game mode then configure your windows 10 sound setup, select AV receiver and your good to go. Most of these guys above don't have a clue so take it from someone whos been using a similar setup for many years that you want....I have had no issues and it works great.
  2. I'm in CO and I get this, I wonder how many other states they are unavailable in? Oh snap! Currently Shadow is unavailable at your location. We’re working hard to provide you the best experience. Be the first to know when Shadow will be available in your area :
  3. I only need to use the Audio drivers from the Nvidia driver that is installed for the graphics card.
  4. Seems there are very few people who use a 5.1 surround sound receiver connected to your GFX/PC so I have shared your frustration. So I will share this picture that its possible, I'm using a 1080ti with a ONKYO receiver (2018 version) and I can get and use whatever you see below, https://ibb.co/KLtyWsG ONKYO receiver > HDMI cable > 1080ti Alienware > DP cable > 1080ti For the receiver, I select game mode with DTS Neural X and I have no issues using Nvidia drivers. I currently using 105hz with my monitor but soon I will be upgrading to a 2080ti and I'll go 120hz. Hope this helps....
  5. JZ, I'm using a DP cable for the AW Monitor and HDMI for the Dell. I think I have figured it out. I switched from the gaming input to the Blu-ray input (HDMI) connected to the 1080ti and it works. See the picture link below and you can see 100 Hz on the top left corner and bottom with sound working. ( the green looks washed out but its the camera) https://ibb.co/cbrN1y The only small downside is I have to have the Dell monitor on, but I will use a black background so I don't notice it too much. This will have to do until I figure something else out.
  6. Hi John, So I have 2 34" monitors, in my display settings I have it so it's like the following 1# AW 34" ( Main Display) 2# Dell 34" 3# Marantz receiver (shows as a display) I did the same as you mentioned, with 2/3 (use "Duplicate these displays"), but still only shows 60 Hz on the AW34. Even though the receiver is connected, if I just select "show only 1", the receiver does not show and no sound. To answer your questions, yes I use 5.1 sound using good speakers, which is why I use the receiver. I'm assuming the headless HDMI still connects the 1080ti HDMI port? if so what difference does it make? If I use optical, I assume I will have the purchase a sound card? Thanks...
  7. Hi, I posted here in the hopes someone can solve my issue. I've used my 1080ti card for sound using a Marantz receiver that's connected via HDMI cable, it has always been used on a ultra wide 60 Hz monitor without any issues. I purchased an Alienware AW3418dw Monitor so I can use 100 Hz+, but I have noticed that with using the above setup but only difference is the AW34 Monitor it will only go to 60 Hz. I disconnect the receiver the AW34 will go to 100 Hz. Using the game input, I know my receiver says the following.. Featuring no less than 8 HDMI inputs (including 1 conveniently located on the front panel), the NR1606 also has the ability to pass full rate 4K Ultra HD 60 Hz content via the Blu-ray and Game inputs, a feature of the latest HDMI specification, so you'll be fully prepared for the next generation in high resolution video. I see what the issue is, but is there any way to force the 1080ti to use the AW34 at 100 Hz using my 1080ti for sound ? Thanks in advance...
  8. Greetings.... Price has come down alot $650, I will concur that a 4K monitor needs a lot of power. I bought the Dell UP3214Q 4K Ultra HD Monitor, even though my GTX670ti supports the resolution the FPS really suffers for gaming.
