  1. I installed windows 10 on a new ssd from my computer, and decided to use that new 1 as the boot drive. however, the boot manager is still detect as old ssd on my bios. booting from my new ssd gives me the blue error screen. is there a way to change the boot manager to my new drive without re installing? thanks!
  2. It's running around ~50C on the EVGA program, and +10C (~60) on Ryzen Master. When it "jumps", it goes to around 55-58.
  3. I'm doing some heavy CPU work on Photoscan and I noticed that my CPU usage jumps down a bit every now and then. The temperature would go up and suddenly go down. It kinda looks like thermal throttling but I'm not sure as I never experienced this before with my old rig. I'm kinda testing the limit of this build at the moment so I wanna know how much I can push my new build. I'm running a Ryzen 7 2700 at 4.0Ghz at 1.35v

that feeling when you are waiting for that LAST COMPONENT to arrive so you can start your build
  5. We may not have a girlfriend. BUT NOTHING WILL STOP US FROM WASTING OUR MONEY!
  6. you can get away with a 4th gen i5 without problem lol http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3769508/rtx-2080-bottleneck-8700k.html to answer your question, no it wont bottleneck, and an the i7-8700k would do and to add to what @Shimejii is saying, your build is WAAAAAAYYYY to overkill for just "gaming" do some research, spend your money wisely. especially with all the bad buzz about the 2080ti
  7. Unless you will be streaming or doing other heavy CPU work (video editing, 3d rendering), you really dont need the i9 heck, even i7 is overkill IMO
  8. Ya I thought about that but the EVGA fans have quite high CFM (even at mid speed). I would assume I could use 3 exhaust and still have positive pressure. Another crazy (and maybe stupid) idea is to use the top 2 fan as intake as well lol i always wanted an hovering pc
  9. I'm stupid lol misread that. was really impressed for a moment. maybe one day we will have 15lb 120mm fans that pushes 10k CFM at 30 dbs maybe
  10. Hi all I'm finalizing my new built now. Just want to know if additional fan would change anything. The case is the Meshify C. I will be using an EVGA CLC 280 in the front as intake, with the EVGA stock fans. The 2 120m fan that came with the case will be exhaust. However, I upgrade to 3 exhaust fan, with 2 140mm on top and 1 in the back. Is it worth it? The only thermal difference will be my GPU, which is a 1060 6gb. I also want to keep the pressure on the positive side, as my apartment is quite dusty.
  11. 120mm will be louder i think? I also found out that thin plastic blades are louder then those more robust 1, and get one that has super high RPM That should do the job. that thing is... 14lb...??? HOW IS IT GONNA SPIN???
  12. Hi all! I'm building a Ryzen 2700 system and I've (finally) wither my choices down to these 2 MSI boards. Right now, the Carbon is ~30$ CAD more then the Tomahawk. The only things that I see that would be worth that extra $ is the on board wifi and aRGB. I dont think i'll be benefiting that much from the extra M.2 slots and the PCI gen 3. Performance wise, it seems the Carbon just slightly outclasses the Tomahawk. Should I just spent that extra $ or waste it on timmies? (I've watched quite a few review videos, and it seems these 2 have similar VRMs. Hardware Unboxed say the Carbon is the best B450. I just could not find any comparison between the 2)
  13. lmao i love this IN DUCT TAPE I TRUST
  14. Hey all! I want to get a 280 rad with my Meshify C Mini build but that would require me to remove my hard drive bay. Is there another way to secure the hard drive?
  15. https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=8_135&item_id=104992 If you want to get a new AIO, now's the chance! I've never seen any 280 rad under 150$CAD before. The EVGA 240 and 120 are also on sale.
  16. welp. there goes my 2700x build hello 2700
  17. ya im most likely going for the 2700x I'm actually wondering if there is any difference between the normal Mortar and the Mortar Titanium beside the colour XD Its good to know that its the best mATX board for AM4 chips doh.
  18. Hey guys I'm searching for a mATX board for a 2700x build and I noticed that MSI has these two B450m boards thats very similar: MSI B450M Mortar and the Titanium version Is there any difference beside the colour difference? Also, what are other recommendation mATX boards for the AM4 chipsets? Thanks yall

    PURE PC

i cant imagine having a cat and owning this pc awesome build!
  20. So Acer just announced that their new lineup of 144hz monitors will be available by Q4. Do you guys think that the price of other similar monitors (144hz, IPS, 1440p) would drop?
  21. oh ya, i can def. run most games (that i play anyway) at 144/1080, or 60/1440. But is it worth it to get one of these high end monitor now? Or should I wait a few more year, and just grab another "normal" monitor? also, i gotta debate whether or not i should spend that extra 100$ on G-sync or not.
  22. Hey all! Is it worth spending ~800CAD on an IPS, 144hz QHD monitor (like the PG279Q)? I've been using an old 2511x for more then 7 years now, and always kinda wanted a monitor for both my gaming needs, and work/school stuff. I want the IPS due to its colour, since i do a lot of 3d rendering. But I also know for a fact that my 1060 6gb cannot run any game at 2k, 144hz. Another setup for my upcomming upgrade would be rocking 2 monitors. But there are some other reason that I kinda dont wanna go with that set up What do you guys think?
  23. @Stefan Payne It is the modular 1. I didn't know there was a non modular 1 lol I think grabbing a new PSU wouldn;t hurt.
  24. Is it just not safe to use an older PSU? I'm not really doing a budget build, so I don't mind replacing it. But if it's usable and reliable, I'll keep using it What would the warranty do?
