  1. I prefer full size keyboards, but mechanical switches outweigh everything else. I ocasionaly have to use the numberpad, but I can get away without it.

  3. This would really help me out as I always have far to many programs running, and I need all the CPU power I need!
  4. I do not own either, but I am going to get a 970 as it is an absolutely amazing price for the performance your getting. The 980 is not justified unless you have a lot of money to spend.
  5. Ok, so the Pentium will be able to handle things until I can get a better Intel such as an i5 or i7?
  6. So I am going to build a new computer and am having trouble picking a CPU. I am going to be using this computer for gaming at whatever the highest settings are in most recent games (FPS). However, because of my $1000 budget which includes a monitor, I needed to get a really budget CPU. I have worked it down to two different choices which I cannot decide between. I can either get the Pentium G3258 and in one or two years upgrade to the i5-4690K because it uses the same socket, or I can get the FX-6350 and not upgrade for a fair while. I have the two builds below, and would love everyones feedback. Thanks! 7. Wow. After looking at everyones responses, I have determined that the 970 is a better investment than the SSD. However, Bubblewhale's idea of getting a 290 instead really interested me as I hadn't looked much at the 290. Because of that, I think that I will get something along the lines of his unlocked build. Thanks for everyones help though, I will probably get a SSD some time later.
  8. The title pretty much says it all. I have to decide between getting a GTX 970 with an AMD, a GTX 770 with an SSD and AMD, or a GTX 770 with and Intel processer and no SSD. I have links to all three of the builds below it you want to see what else I am putting into it. Also note that I want to keep this at pretty much $1000 to play modern games on Ultra at 1080p. Thanks for everyones help! 9. So what I am getting is that it will work on the DK2, but I might need something more with the CV1, but I will have to wait and see. Thanks everyone!
  10. Asssuming that the consumer version (the one I will get when it comes out) has equal too or slightly higher specs than the DK2, will an i5-4690K and a GTX 770 work fine with it on most games? I do not need all the settings maxed out, but I would like them to be medium or high at least. If anyone owns a DK2 and has a setup similar to this one, I would love to know how it is working. Thanks!
  11. My favorite item is the cooler because I have never used a liquid cooler before!
  12. Thanks for everyone's answers! This has helped me a lot, and I especially likes Sauron's post. This is all helping in my decision to get a desktop instead of a laptop.
  13. So I have been looking at the benefits of custom built PCs, and one of them is that they last longer than laptops. I know that this is true, but now I am looking for some specifics. How long would you expect a PC which is used for gaming and internet browsing, which has an i5 3470k and a GTX 970 to last for. I am looking for something just in the ball park, and I am willing to go down to medium settings on games before it is classified as 'done lasting'. Thanks for and ideas anyone has!
  14. In my opinion, PCs are better because they can do everything consoles do, but cheaper, more efficiently, better (higher settings and FPS), and they can do so many more things!
