  1. UPDATE: looks like Nvidia's drivers arent starting up on first boot. ive tried reinstalling the driver yet no bueno.... this is really baffling
  2. so i installed a new gtx 1080 xtreme gaming from gigabyte the other day (due to the EVGA FTW getting replaced due to issues) the evga one would recognise the 2nd monitor on boot no problem but with this, it either takes time after i log into windows to recognise there is a 2nd monitor or sometimes it doesnt recognise it at all and ill have to reboot to get it to know its there. even then it will do the whole cut to black screen for a sec then reappear with 2nd monitor in tow shebang anyone have any clue what could be causing this?
  3. Like a min or two. How long does.it.normally takr? Ive taken it out, playing as it were before the addition. Still no bueno
  4. Nope. No scratches or marks on the board. Thats the first thing i checked for
  5. So i got a new wifi card today and decided i would install it. However after installing, it seems that my pc got the problem in title. Ive tested if its gpu, its not. Im running a z170 -p asus board with the chip to go with it. The led strip on the board glows orange, and led on the board is green. Cpu cooler fans and case fans run fine. Any ideas what it could be? Ive got warrenty but the rrpair place doesnt open till monday so perhaps i can get a general idea before i go talk to them
  6. damn... thats going to be a lot of stuff to reinstall for me. wish tehre was an alternative to this... i guess worst comes to worst ill move all files to the other drive and hjust throw them back in after its all said and done
  7. i dont think i have enough mana to do that then =( so nothing on the same drive will be touched if i choose that option?
  8. i ran the anniversary install but not a reinstall. theres so many things i dont know how i could do a reinstall without losing most of the stuff on my SSD (where my OS is installed)
  9. so there are 2 things ive noticed when i upgraded from a 970 to a 1080. when i play NBA 2k16 sometimes the monitors will turn black and the GPU will spin its fans to the max and be loud as hell (its the EVGA FTW edition) and the only way to fix will be to reboot the system via shutting down from the case power button second issue is, i dont know if its gpu or the monitor, the screen flickers with B&W lines for a good .5 seconds every so often if im just browsing the web or idling. when im gaming it doesnt happen (thankfully). the screen is a Asus VG248QE did i get a bad gpu? should i go get it changed (bought it like a week or so ago)?
  10. ah ok. cheers for the help
  11. a mixer? sorry im new to this.. what a good mixer thats not very expensive?
  12. so ive been running a gaming headset for a long time and they just broke. so looking around i see that the m40x is my pricerange (with modmic) only problem i see here is that i dont see a volume controller which i am very accustomed to from gaming headsets. so how do you guys control your volumes without manually clicking on the volume control on your task bar?
  13. ive downloaded HWinfo but i have no idea where i can take the readings i dont think so. running same programmes and it will make a noise or sometimes it will quieten down on itself. its a real mystery. at the moment and last night (ran dota2, FFVII, chrome, steam, discord, itunes and all that jazz) it made no noise. however the same thing 2 days ago made the buzzing sound
  14. sorry i was away for a bit. still finishing up on unpacking. ill get on this asap
  15. the slow motion feature. that would be awesome to capture moments on roadtrips
