  1. Thank you for the quick replies everyone, just for the record im using windows 7 pro. Turns out a couple of the other users on the computer had something like 70GB on there desktops, frustratingly when i looked at the properties for users on the C: drive it only said 25GB was being used. Thank you so much for recommending WinDirStat showed exactly which files and folders where using too much space.
  2. Hi Everyone, I realise there is a reason I just cant see where all the space is being filled, I'm lost as to why my local disk C: shows as 229 GB of used space with 870 MB free. When I look at the Properties of all files (including hidden) in C: Drive it only adds up to 92 GB. I cant see and don't know where the rest of my 140 GB has gone. Has anyone else had a similar issue/know of a fix, I have had a look online but I can only find 1 similar issue with no solution, any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Okay home Theatre is now set up, got audio from my PS3 running to the Reciver and HDMI to the tv, settings in ps3 set up to put audio through TOSLINK cable into Receiver and HDMI to go into tv for video sounds awesome for movies and games. Audio from the tv is currently running through audio jack to stereo into the receiver until I check the pass though capability, might need another TOSLINK cable.
  4. Thank you for all your help everyone, I'm always impressed by the quality of info that this community can provide I did get a suggestion to make sure my tv isn't processing the sound (compression or whatever) Ill update when i pick up a TOSLINK cable and test. unfortunately being in Australia we don't get access to Amazon products so i shall be going down to the local hi-fi store and picking up a $10-15 one.
  5. Hi guys, Just picked up a Yamaha rx-v357 receiver (approx 2004) with some speakers and other stuff for $50, I want to use it with my LG 42" la6230-tb the problem I'm having is i want my apple tv/ ps3 and tv to use use HDMI to the tv and have a single optical in to the receiver. (Instead of running component in and out of the receiver) I was just wondering does anyone see anything wrong with using the TV as the hub with HDMI's in and using the optical audio out via the tv into the receiver. I know the receiver is generally used as the hub but as above coz mine is a bit older i don't want to be limited by composite/ component ports or buy a heap of cables i wont use in the future. I figure if i can get away with a $25 optical audio cable for a total of $75ish dollars for much better sound then my tv speakers or what ive had up-until now some pc speakers. Thanks for any help
  6. Hey Julius, Im not sure about the 4K part of what your looking at but from what i've seen samsung seem to have nicer panels with better colour refresh rates, i think the biggest thing i look at after that is to make sure they have the required Inputs as well as outputs for future uses ie Receiver compatibility, im stuck with an aux jack to power my receiver atm until such a time as i upgrade. I have a 42" LGla6230-tb http://www.lg.com/au/tvs/lg-42LA6230, but family and friends have bought the 50" and 55" versions with 4K and have said that the money they spent on 4K might have been better spent on a nice quality sound system. Also check the "smart" capabilities of the TV if you want to stream from a NAS drive or control with a Smart Phone maybe se what other people have been able to do with them. Hope this helps and good luck with any purchase you choose.

  8. The Phone Looks amazing with the dbrand Skin on it, loving the way dbrand allows you to make heaps of devices your own, or make them look similar, a problem i tend to have in my family where everyone has a iphone 4 and keeps taking mine, Don't think it would be a problem with the phone. went into a store and Held the Z1, felt awesome, and if the Z2 is anything like it would be amazing.
