  1. In other news, I am an idiot. As I threw in the towel for tonight, I slipped the case doors on and noticed to my frustrated, yet profoundly delighted surprise that a power cable had indeed wiggled loose from the power supply, and in my "careful checking over of the cables," I clearly was inept. I plugged it back in and everything booted as it had before. An Admin should do me a great service and delete this before my supreme Overlord of Technology Linus sees this and permabans me. Although... Getting banned by Linus himself might be worth its weight in [Reddit] Gold.
  2. Hello all. This is my first real post on the forum, and boy am I in need of some help right now. Computer specs are listed below: Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z87 Processor: i7 4770K at 3.5GHz Stock Speed GPU: EVGA GTX 980 Power Supply: Corsair HX750 Primary Drive (SSD): 250GB Samsung 840 EVO Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Secondary Drive: 1TB WD Caviar Black Drive RAM: 8GB G. Skill Sniper DDR3 1866MHz (4GB x 2) Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 On Monday night I receive a new 230mm fan from BitFenix because I wanted to do a White LED theme. I installed the fan, booted up and saw the log-in screen, turned off my computer and went to bed. On Tuesday evening after arriving home from work, I booted up and logged in to be met with a message notifying me that my Dropbox was unsuccessful in locating its directory. I tried navigating to it, only to realize that not only was Dropbox inaccessible, everything on my secondary HDD was inaccessible. My Computer turned up nothing for the drive, so I booted down, opened my case, unplugged and replugged the SATA Data Cable and Power Cable for the Hard Drive, then booted into BIOS. Nothing showed up. At this point, I realized this could be a failed drive. I left BIOS and started seeing alternate solutions. I updated some chipset drivers without luck, then I booted down and tried changing ports for both my SSD and HDD. I resolved myself to having a failed drive since I heard no spin up. It is worth noting both my SSD and HDD are on the same power cable. I ordered a replacement drive from Amazon, which arrived today. I plugged it into the same port as the old HDD, went into Device Manager and brought it up as a new simple storage volume. It was immediately recognized, and I started redownloading programs and syncing backups from an External drive. I restarted the computer several times and faced no issues. I received in the mail in addition to the hard drive a 2-meter NZXT White LED sleeve, which I installed after getting things updated. I started my computer and it went straight into BIOS. Both my SSD and HDD are not showing up. At this point, I've come to the forums, because I've seen a lot of issues in my day, but I'm not sure how to tackle this one in a logical way without replacing components that may not need to be replaced. Have any of you faced an issue like this before and resolved it? If not, any idea as to how to go about addressing it? I appreciate any help provided. I hate when things go wrong with my PC, but that's just part of it. I am extremely careful when working on it, though it seems that the only common thread between the two incidents is that I had just installed something. I've traced wires and ensured nothing seems off, but I've had no luck so far. I will touch base after work tomorrow to provide any updates. TL;DR: Secondary Hard Drive disappears from BIOS. I replace it, everything works. Now SSD and replacement HDD have disappeared from BIOS. Thanks for any input!
