CJHGunner's Achievements

  1. I went with a DGX in the end. Its not work for some reason or another on these headphones so I am going to look into it. I have the output activated in my settings but still nothing.
  2. I recently got a headset that required an optical audio cables and my Motherboard only has 3.5mm jacks. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good prices soundcard (internal or external) that I could use for this. On the back of the wireless reciever I have there is an Optical in so I assume on the other end I would need an optical out? Any help would be appriciated. The headset in question is the Nemesis Akuma if that helps at all. I am not the best with audio devices and I have no way of telling if the card I am looking at is the right thing.
  3. I am not fussed about form factor other then a screen size of 15.3 inches or less. And I just wanted to see if there were any hidden gems on the market at the moment with good power and battery life. I will invest in the MBPr or an XPS laptop once I am able. Thank you for your help.
  4. I am a university student in England and I am currently using a Lenovo G505 as a note taking laptop. However as a student doing media I am required to do video editing, photo editing, audio editing and an assortment of different things. The Lenovo falls behind here with is A6 Processor and 4GB of ram (And lets not mention the 1366x768 resolution that the adobe suite hates for me) Anyway long story short I am not familiar with laptops and I want a device with at least a 1080p screen as I will rarely work with 4K content (And if I do worst case scenario my university has Mac Pros) And I need it to have the horsepower to handle editing and rendering. I would also like it to have a good battery life as I will still be using it day to day around university and I rarely have easy access to a wall socket. My Budget is £1000 and I am hoping there is something that is a better deal then either the bottom tier Macbook Pro Retina or the XPS 13.
  5. Hey guys. Today I am on the forums looking for two suggestions. The first case I need is reasonably sized ATX case that I can fit underneath a desk. Needs good airflow, feet (If its a bottom mounted PSU) and I would like it to come with good/reasonable quality fans. A case with sound dampening would also be nice. This will me the home of my main rig which is an I5 4690k and GTX 970. Willing to pay up to £120 on this case as I plan on keeping it for a while. The second case I am looking for is a low profile ATX PC case. This will contain the parts from another build that I have done in the past. I just need it to be compact and easy to move but keeping that ATX form factor as I do not plan on purchasing an ITX Z68 board for the sake of a smaller case. I will be using a GTX 660 and standard sized PSU in this case. As this is not a main PC. I would prefer this to be shorter height wise rather then width. No more then £50 in the UK if possible. Thank you for any suggestions and I hope you will be able to help me.
  6. I could see the benefits of Vessel although I feel the quality could be better visually but the sound and player are much smoother and crash much less then Youtube would and I like that . 7. I have had similar issues on a 16GB system while using Google Chrome. I found the issue was after using chrome for sometime even after killing all chrome processes my RAM would hit 14GB of ram usage while idling on the desktop. I dont know what causes the issue but after switching to Firefox I found the issue stopped so I can suggest trying another web browser and see if it still happens. (I suggest Firefox or Opera because I dont have the issue with either of those and well IE is IE) EDIT: I would also like to state that while running chrome along side games (Payday 2 in paticular) my GPU clock would lock and the driver would crash quite a lot. This was on a Nvidia system so if anyone is suffering those issues tryrunning a different browser as well. I received that advice from EVGA themselves so it does not seem I am the only one to encounter that.
  8. When it comes to my purchase of the 970 I yes made the purchase for the performance. The reason I brought the 970 was because it was more or less the same price as a second hand 780 here in the UK and it had a 1GB VRAM advantage. Now I have paid extra money for a card which cant fully utalise the hardware it has been given and it kind of annoys me especially considering I am a gamer who enjoys playing the newest games as well as the older ones.
  9. To explain the difference from MSI Afterburner and the Asus program is because Afterburner is looking at one core and the other program is looking at the overall temprature of the CPU.
  10. I have been busy over new years and getting ready to go back into University so sorry for such a late reply. But cheers for the suggestion I will give it a look and see if I can get it for a nice price over here in the UK. And I appriciate the link to the forum but I dont want to pay twice the price of my GPU just for the sake of "Perfect audio" which is subjective I just need something to replace Realtek HD audio for less then £100. EDIT: I also need it to have a 3.5mm jack for a Mic if possible as well and the E10-k is missing this. I get static quite badly through the Mic plus the Amplification on the Mic is poor at best as Realtek decicdes I need it in increments of 10db which is annoying. And I get a largely unnotiable static on my headphones unless I am listening to the Line in at the rear of my PC that I use to output the sound of my PS3 into the headset attached to my PC (Which works a treat minus the static which is really bad on the onboard)
  11. Ok so I recently moved from my old Logitech G430s to a shiny new pair of HyperX Cloud headphones. This change means I have moved of a USB solution and I am now left with audio jacks. This is not an issue because overall it is a great improvement over my old headphones. The issue is I am using a board with basic Realtek Audio you get on most non gaming boards. I was wondering if anyone had some good suggestion for a sound card or even external solution. I just want something that for less then £100 that could greatly remove static noise and better amplify audio and improve the overall quality.
  12. It did the usual and is still stuck at 539mhz. But thanks for the suggestion man. I will just have to wait till the next driver update to play anything.
  13. Ah that sucks man. I rolled back and it started of working fine then the clock halved again and its a royal pain in the ass I have FC4 just waiting to be played but the FPS tanks. Cheers for the guide I will give it a go and post back the results incase anyone else has a similar issue.
  14. I will give it a go. Although I have read elsewhere even after roll-back to a driver where the issue didn't exist it now does.
  15. Since 344.75 drivers for the Nvidia cards I have been getting this really annoying issue where a day or two after a clean install of the drivers the GPU will get stuck at a clock speed of 539mhz and it will not go any higher even if I am playing a game like Far Cry 4 or Battlefield. I have no idea how to fix this issue but I have worked out its something driver related since i have had it on two GPUS on two different motherboards both having this issue. Any suggestions on how to fix it will be greatly appreciated.
