  1. Loving my new job (lot porter for a Chevy dealer) but the hours are long as there's little time outside of work when you work 9 hours per day. Even browsing the forum seems kinda weird because I'm making typos and stuff like that that I wouldn't normally do.

Definitely miss some people from my old job but driving cool cars definitely beats food service any day.

@STRMfrmXMN Not every time, I check my oil every week. Since I switched to synthetic oil, the oil's burned at a slower rate (I drive my car for racing sometimes). If you don't drive the car like mental, RX-8 burns not much oil, some RX-7s and older can still burns more oil since they are mechanically driven (you can readjust it). Newer RXs oil injection are electronic driven, so you have to reprogram it.

About the reliability, some people I know readjusted the oil injection so it injects more, worse emission but so far their cars have been running since around 2005 (not for racing, some launches, but nothing more intense). They also changed their seals to the thicker ones (not OEM of course).

Thing is though, they burn obscene amounts of oil for a road-going car. The rotary also runs better if driven hard. I'm not an engineer, so I don't know why that is, but I'd guess it has something to do with carbon buildup.

I agree on that one, the carbon buildup is sure an issue, some go by rerouting the oiling system so it doesn't inject 4 stroke oil but 2 stroke instead since it burns more cleanly. Even when driven hard, temperature is an issue and rotaries are very sensitive to excessive heat.

About being driven hard, have you ever heard about the Italian tune up? The idea is similar to that.
