Haven't been active much today due to awful RSI in my wrist.
Built my friends new PC and it got tons of BSODs relating to memory. Doing dozens of memtests currently, seems highly likely one of the two sticks was faulty.
Hey, the R5 1600 is nice though!

@CUDA_CoresRMAing thru newegg requires all the packaging and stuff so I dunno if we can send back just one stick
@Tech_Dreamerfriend of mine does video production for a living and needed something better than the laptop and iMac he had as choices before so we built this. Sadly it seems as though my first incident with broken brand-new hardware for a build had to happen right now.

believe its carpal tunnel related pain , the way you handle mice especially playing games where dpi is set low & you have to do elaborate repetitive movement from a static forearm position it sometimes cause inflammation right bebneath the wrist enough to put painful pressure on a median nerve running through it. He's posted a ccouple of updates relating to Overwatch , I'm assuming it's from overdoing that .

@Tech_Dreamer Nah the BIOS is up to date. If a DIMM fails memtest on its own, is replaced in the same slot which then passes, we have a dysfunctional DIMM. Also the RSI is likely from work-related injury sadly.
@BleedingyamatoDude, you do have Google btw
@YedZedtis dangerous to go alone, bring this!

@BleedingyamatoYeah no worries, best of luck with you and friend!

@SuperShermanTanker Yeah this RAM worked fine as a single stick but put them together they failed, individually tested them in Memtest86 until 2AM and one turned up a couple errors under the Hammer Test (AKA what we essentially were doing when using After Effects and Premiere at the same time that caused BSODs) and we found one DIMM to be RIP. The RAM worked at its rated speed under a single DIMM at 2933, normal timings with the 3.7 GHz OC I gave the chip.

@STRMfrmXMN Thank you. I haven't heard from her since Tuesday so I'm getting worried. It's probably worrying about nothing and she's just busy but until I hear from her idk for sure if everything is ok.

@Tech_DreamerTeam is a mainstream brand. It was the cheapest 3000 MHz 2*8 DIMMs I could find. It's made of Crucial memory, I do believe.
@BleedingyamatoCrossing my fingers!
