  1. Hey Thanks for the reply! A googling I go.
  2. I for the life of me cannot remember how to configure CPU in UEFI to draw minumal power when idle or low power tasks like web, youtube, etc and max/OC when utilizing more demanding programs or playing games. Right now I am running an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X on a ASUS B550 ROG wifi II. I think it has something to do with the offset values +/- in UEFI but I recenlty fried by X370 MB and I'm a little leary to mess about. In windows I changed the minimum power state to 10% and max to 100% but it didn't result and any change as per task mtg. At 1-5% usage the CPU clocks remain at or above base speeds 3.8 ghz. Advise?
  3. Right? I must be tripping. IDK why I'm struggling this hard with wrapping my head around it. I'm sure I could use a program or some methodology to flesh out the data into some sort of metrics but alas its just not apparent to my old and tired brain at the moment.
  4. I just bought a R7 5700G & RTX 3060Ti. I noticed that when I ran afterburner's perf overlay it would show the integrated graphics being used by as much as 30%. So just for S&Gs I when into BIOS (older X370 MB) and set the internal graphics to EXTREME (cuz why not) & moved by display port from the the dedicated card to the port on the motherboard and WTF it actual seems that I'm using BOTH graphics together & I might even be getting a perf boost in some games. Now EVERYTHING I've learned on this earth tells me that this shouldn't be. Only laptops w/integrated + dedicated & SLI/crossfire setups should be capable of this. What gives? Am i just deceiving myself or is windows doing some black-magic fugery here? Also I can get the Adrenaline software to run even with the NVIDIA card out and the drivers removed. An error pops about not using the same driver as the software (it seems windows driver supersedes AMD's own oddly enough) and from what I've read I'd have to roll back the driver to the last one that corresponds to the last one paired with the Adrenaline software.
  5. Good Sir, I might suggest it is you who must read and think but that would be rude and unkind so I'll refrain from doing so. I never suggested "pay-to-get-chance-of-winning" or gambling. I suggested offering LTT forum members & paid subscribers to Floatplane / LTT an easer way to qualify for the program. The stated purpose of the program is to help get actual gamers the opportunity to buy graphics cards at a fair price right? So why then would limiting MOST but not all of the drops to those three groups be considered gambling? https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/gambling As far as being unethical, I'll remind you I qualified that statement by saying "at worst" but I'll admit it a bit of hyperbole. The unethical bit would be requiring people to watch every LTT vid the second it drops just to find out where on the internet they'd need go just to to sign up. Obviously the real point of all this is to get more views/subs/revenue for LTT which is 100% proper. I want LTT to profit. They make great content that has enriched my life in various ways over the years I sincerely hope they continue to do so well into the future. That said though, the methods they've employed thus far stand in stark contradiction to the stated purpose of their program. Respectfully, Chris
  6. Sorry but I just don't understand LMG's thinking here. Why not limit the vast majority of Verified Actual Gamer program drops to Forum Members who's account was (at a minimum), created sometime before the program announcement, paid subscribers & Floatplane subs. Then, have just one or two drops done via this scheme. This "have to watch every video the minute they launch roulette" is at best wildly unfair or at worst just shy of unethical. I mean really... people work / go to school / have real world obligations that preclude that level of attention. I understand LMG wants/needs to make bank on the views;, (this is proper & just) but please reconsider how you're doing this. I'd really like the opportunity to buy a new card to replace my aging GTX1070 at a fair price.

lolz I know, just venting.  Peace Brother.

  8. Can someone please link me to where I can sign up for this??? I can't for the life of me figure out where to go to sign up for the Verified Actual Gamer Program!
  9. To spend that amount is just insane.
  10. Hit up all the "Goodwill", "Saver's", "Salvation Army" or whatever local equivalent 2nd hand donation store you have around you. Finding a PC 5.1 speaker system in good working order will be tough but finding a Surround Sound Stereo Tuner with HDMI or optical/SPDIF in will be easier. Then just hunt for decent speakers. Finding a good powered subwoofer will be hardest of all but in the end, you'll have spent between $10-$50 and have a system that shakes the roof as opposed to some wankey PC 5.1 that costs a couple hundo.

  13. And what about SLI? If SWIM already has a GTX 1060 and would like to SLI the Chinese card, would it evn werk bruh?
  14. New board new build R5-1600 on Air Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 Worked great for about a day, then: Ethernet /NIC disabled randomly. Sometimes at boot, mostly while gaming. Tried all the usual things: Router, modem, cables, driver(s) Tried some other things; Installed fresh Win 10 same issue Installed Ubuntu 17.5- no issues while live-USB but no connection after install. What am I missing?
  15. So I looked into this around the time you posted actually, I spoke with the administrator of my local SUNY school IT dept. and he stated that in NY, it's illegal for any entity, be they Gov, semi-Gov or NFP that r/c Gov funding to "donate" or even sell their old tech to any old recycler or even private individuals (which is ironic considering its OUR money in the form of collected taxes that bought the shit in the 1st place) or a place like FreeGeek, unless they have a NYS or County/Town level "contract". That essentially means that unless you're related to a Gov official and u own a recycling facility, you ain't getting anything. All the private entities sell their shit to recyclers who sell it to overseas entities whom employ child/slave labor to harvest REE's or any other metals that are worth currency. We're stuck trolling Saver's and Goodwills for one off private donations OR skimming the cesspool that is CL. I NY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
