  1. @Himommies I feel incredibly stupid at this moment. After I got into the BIOS I rebooted the PC. And then it said that it needed a disk to boot from. I connect the SATA cords and then it booted into Windows. After that I placed the RAM on the 2nd and 3rd slot. It booted. Then I connected the 980. The computer started, but still no screen. When I connected the DVI from the 980 on the MOBO it had a screen. So I connected the power cables from the 770 on the 980 and it booted with a video connection to the monitor! After further inspection, I suddenly noticed that there was a loose cable on the PSU. I inmediatly felt like a really, really dumb person that I hadn't checked it earlier on. I think it was because the fans on the 980 where normally spinning, so I was thinking that there was no power shortage. After that I added the 770 and it worked properly. I got video from the 980 and the 770, so the problem is FIXED!!! Thanks for your time on thinking what could be the problem, I am now han go in my corner and cry like the PC n00b I am. Thanks again!
  2. @paddy-stone I have removed the GPU's, disconnected all the SATA cables and put the RAM sticks in slot 3 & 4. Currently in the BIOS and I'm gonna check out what you said. Is it safe to place one of the RAM dims into 2 after everything is booting up? @Himommies That is correct! But the problem is is that the GTX 980 is not recognized in Octane as a GPU it can render from. Also it doesn't show up in Device manager, and I use it sometimes as my gaming card when I'm not working on the PC. So I kinda need it to show up. @RGProductions I haven't looked into it. But I have had this system up and running and working properly. I recently switched the MOBO because my B150 Gaming M3 before the current one I'm speaking of was not working properly. That was is currently going for RMA, so I bought this one as a replacement. I had specificly chosen for this one, so I knew all the components would work in this setup. What should I do? Now I can get into the BIOS.
  3. Hello, I've some issues with my B150 Gaming M3 motherboard not recognizing my GTX 980, but it does recognize my GTX 770 [I run the 770 for my screen and I use the 980 as a CUDA card for CUDA rendering (Octane Render)]. Googled a solution to this matter, and someone said that you should update your drivers for the MOBO, so I did. Turned out that didn't aid the solution. Then someone said: update your BIOS. So I googled: MSI B150 Gaming M3 BIOS update. That brought me to the MSI website where I downloaded the 2nd last BIOS update (B.9). With the help of the "HELP" file I installed it on a USB stick and I went to work. Everything seemed to be working fine, the BIOS was updating and when finished it restarted my PC. Buuuuuuuutt....... then the problems occured. I didn't get a screen connection. I couldn't get into the BIOS or even see what was happening. I thought that it maybe needed to finish some things, but after 10 minutes there was still no screen and it didn't do anything (no reboot what so ever). So I turned it off with pressing in the power button. And then tried to reboot it. Still no screen connection, my mouse and keyboard won't connect either. Does anyone have a solution or tips/tricks to overcome this problem? PC SPECS: MOBO: MSI B150 Gaming M3 RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x8GB DDR4 RAM CPU: i5 6600 GPU #1: GTX 980 GPU #2: GTX 770 Greetings, Cazure
  4. The looks are indeed horrible, but it does the job, and that's important!
  5. For the use of CUDA cores there is no need in getting a SLI bridge for them. So that isn't a big problem. And I'm not intending to use it for gaming.
  6. I have an AMD Phenom II 1090T (6 core) CPU. For the GPU my budget is very limited. I have enough money for a GTX 980 (that has an Octanebench score of 97) for around €540. Or I buy a GTX 980ti (124 Octanebench score) for €200 more. And for the 30 Octanebench points more I'm not making a 'profit' from it. Also in this link I've found a Octane user that has used the same setup that I want to use. http://postimg.org/image/3n75f91t9/ FYI: Octanebench is the OTOY equivalent of Cinebench, only in Octanebench they only use the power of the GPU's. My PSU is a: Thermaltake Toughpower XT 775W Unit (I don't have a specific code unfortunately) On the Octane Facebook page they've said that there is no SLI bridge needed to use CUDA.
  7. As the topic title says: I want to add a new GPU to my rig. But is my PC ready for it? I'm not a real techhead, so if someone can confirm if my rig is up to it, that would be splendid! My current rig has: AMD 1090T CPU GTX 770 GPU M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 MOBO 775 Watt PSU 16GB DDR3 RAM 2x 128GB SSD (RAID 1) 1x 2TB HDD I want to add a GTX 980 in my rig. I'm an animator and I use for my work a 3D Render Engine called: Octane from OTOY. The Render Engine is fully based on NVIDIA CUDA. So when I've got more CUDA cores I can render faster and get bigger projects. My only concern is: can my PSU give enough power to the card and is the expension slot good enough for the GTX 980 (the GTX 770 runs perfect, although it's PCI-e 2.0)? Thanks and greetings, Caz
  8. Hello Everyone, Recently I've installed a new CPU cooler in my case and therefore I needed to unplug the motherboard. Get it out of the case and reinstalling it. The computer booted and everything seems to work like a charm except for one thing. Everytime I boot up the PC it asks what OS I want to boot. I've got Windows 7 & Windows 7 Professional (that's recovered). So I choose the one that is recovered, it boots up and then it works. My files are there and everything is working like normal. I shut down the PC, put it in the room where I've stationed it and then boot it again. But it asks exactly the same question again, and again, and again. So, I do I fix this problem? I just want that it boots automaticly into my working OS. Cheers!
  9. I think that isn't necassery.. But thanks for the offer
  10. Oh my god you guys, thank you so much for clarifying this up! Thanks so much!
  11. HELP ME OUT! I was cleaning my PC with a canteen of gas spray and accidently there came instead gas, liquid out of the canteen. It sprayed through my CPU cooler on the motherboard (it's maybe 7 droplets, I can't be precise). What do I need to do? Is my PC doomed and can I bring it to the scrapyard? Do I need to clean the spot(s) with a tissue? Let it dry out (if that is possible) and/or disasemble the PC and then let it dry out (or something). I'm really stressing right now because I don't know how big the damage could be. This is the canteen I'm using: http://www.dienadel.de/Teslanol+Druckgasspray+-+400ml.htm, I've only got it in German (I'm Dutch). So any German folks out here could maybe help me out? Greetings, A sweating Cazure
  12. Brown switches! My bad for posting it on the wrong thread, my apologies.
  13. It was a hell of a job. The table had sharp edges so we made these round. Sanded it 4 times (by hand) and then varnish the whole things 3 (maybe 4) times. But the result is stunning. It's very strong and won't bend on whatever I put on it
  14. Made my desk with my dad so that it also fits in my closet.
