  1. The video card is the reference 670 I plan to migrate from the old system. I get where you are coming from with the Ryzen being cheaper and very good, but I've always had some problems with AMD before. Nothing serious, always minor bugs in the software or infuriating bluescreens that could be traced back to some form of AMD software or driver fault. I am not yet ready to trust them again and don't want to hassle too much with it. But thank you for your suggestion. Do you think small problems like drivers misbehaving or malfunctioning software has been reworked now with Ryzen? Did they better themselves? Any other quality bump in the support they did or something? Because I haven't paid them much attention over the years. Unfortunately, the vendor doesn't list Seasonic at all in his PSU brands list. I have found this replacement, though: be quiet! Pure Power 10 for 87,99€ (600W, 80+ silver) The MoBo you suggested is unfortunately not available as well, therefore, how about the Gigabyte Z370 D3 for 109,35€? Is there a reason why you don't suggest the K skew processor? Can I upgrade to 9th gen i7 later on? Why Z370 and not Z390? Is it that bad considering the price? Thank you for your suggestion, though.
  2. Hello together, I am here to get an okay from you experienced builders for my new build. I plan on building this around February when I have all the parts together. Budget & Location Budget is basically not available as I am going to finance this with a vendor here in Germany. I plan on just upgrading from an ancient platform, though. One important thing is that I have to buy from this one specific vendor here in Germany. It is called Otto and lets me finance this all in a monthly sum. I have to get the CPU from somewhere else, though. Of course they don't list such subsidiary objects, like CPUs, for computers. The video Card is still good and doesn't need to be changed, so I, too, just scrapped it from this list. The OS is pretty simple, I can get a copy from an online vendor for next to nothing. Are there any problems with Windows 10 Home Edition, when I migrate the Drives into a new system? (I heard Microsoft acts as you haven't activated correctly) Are the parts generally OK or did I miss any big problems? (mind you, I do know, that the PSU is too much for this setup) Any optimizations in mind? Do tell me, whether or not there are any specific problems with the selected parts. Did I leave anything open? Aim I want to have this system as a potent gaming machine, that can be upgraded later on. I might do some light photo editing or even video editing, but never more than a holiday trip or something. Streaming content from the machine is not wanted as of right now. Monitors I plan on using one 1920x1080 monitor on it, but I might upgrade the graphics card and monitor later on. Peripherals No, thank you. Why are you upgrading? Because my current system is ancient and not capable of gaming AAA titles. Kind Regards AppiX PS: thanks to @Windspeed36 for the thread recommendation
  3. I can recommend the Phanteks P400S (TG). It's a cheaper case and quite pretty, if you ask me. It also has noise dampening material, if you want it and comes with a LED light strip (10 colors), that you can control from the front.
  4. Everything you said, have said and will say is true, was true and will always be true. Thank you for enlightening me. Now get back on topic
  5. What sort of Settings does your sister want to change? AFAIK, you can change all the settings, that occur during the setup process, later on too. She would just have to go through all the Settings in the Settings Menu, wouldn't she?
  6. Congratulations. Did you check everything though? Really everything? Couldn't it have been, that for some reason, you might potentially have missed somehing that didn't work completely? As it was advertised or specified? I guess you are trying to tell me, that the Windows Update Feature is the Nonplusultra. Period. Got that. Fine, have it your way, but let's get back on topic here, I'm trying to help.
  7. Regarding your first Paragraph: I don't understand how my experience can be wrong, but ok, lets ignore that. I didnt mean the necessary drivers. I meant stuff like screen rotation, touchscreen input ad WiFi. Those things usually work OK within windows, if at all, but dont live up to their potential. Anyhow, just my experience.
  8. From my experience, installing windows new on such a device, usually leads to problems. Driver related problems. I would recommend not to do the new install. I think factory reset is fine. If she's that concerned about the presets, then she can download the Spybot Anti-Beacon, it took care of all the privacy related issues I had with Win10. Another thing in mind is, that the Windows Key will be wiped from the registry. This means, unless you have a key printed on the device or somewhere around you, your windows wont be activated.
  9. Did you try it? Did it work? Or did everything combust and kill you in the process...
  10. There is a reddit user, that seems to have had the same problem. He updated his network driver. Your network card seems to be the Killer E2201 LAN Chip, according to gigabtes website. Here is the link to the Killer HP. Here's the link to the Reddit Page. edit: Link to Killer HP fixed
  11. Did you test the GPU in another system? Try that If you did already and the GPU worked, your problem seems to be the Slot on your MoBo. If you did and the GPU didn't work, it most probably is the GPU itself. In this case you need to file an RMA I suppose.
  12. Sorry, let me clear things up. turn off your PSU by putting the switch in the OFF or O position. then take out the battery. then hold the power button for 10 seconds (you can leave the cables plugged in) it might try to start, but won't succeed. now put the battery back in and put the switch into the ON or I position. restart your system, if it doesn't automatically. after all this, answer the question: did it work? regs
  13. To Clearf CMOS take out The flat battery on the MoBo and hold the power button for 10 seconds. (You can find the battery right below the blue PCIe slot.) Then put the battery back in and try starting your system. if this helps, gz, if it doesn't, tell us your specs.
  14. G502 Spectrum sharkoon skiller...
  15. Do you live in America? Do you plan on using bits or drivers for iphone or other smart electronics too? Cause if so, I can whole-heartedly recommend the Pro Tech Toolkit from ifixit. It has it all, Screwdriver and Bits, as well as Pryers, Pliers and an antistatic wristband. You should be able to do whatever you want with it. I am going to buy myself this Toolkit once this month is over. This Toolkit is a little bit above your price limit, see for yourself though. You can go to www.ifixit.com/Linus and enter the code Linus to get a discount of $5.00 at checkout.
