  1. It was a motherboard problem. Thanks anyway.
  2. Hi there, I recently bought an Orbweaver, not stealth or Chroma. Original Orbweaver. Anyway, I can't get it detected by Synapse 2.0. I've tried USB ports that already worked with my xbox controller, with charging my smartphone, etc. Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be most appreciated.
  3. You should look up Hardware Canucks. I believe they have videos on both that show cooling performance too.
  4. Yes, it's a great deal. For most AAA games, there's <5% difference between the 4790k and the newest Intel CPUs. The only time in games the newest CPU is a moderate advantage is for games like CSGO or PUBG which depend heavily on IPC (clock rate per core instead of cumulative). Keep in mind you'll have to get a new motherboard to fit the new CPU. But assuming you have DDR3 RAM, there are motherboards that take DDR3 too so that could potentially be a place for savings. I'm in the UK and if you don't want that CPU send the link and I'll take it
  5. This is absolutely under no circumstances a good idea. The number of games that support SLI well is fewer than the number of fingers on a hand.
  6. 3 things The PSU is complete overkill. You would be fine with 550. Did you forget to add a HDD or you just don't want one? Get a fractal define s. its basically an improvement on the define and will give you more options on cable management and coolers.
  7. So-so. HDD: Why are you not getting an SSD? Do you like staring at a splash screen for 2minutes each time you load a new BF4 server? Or the 3-5minutes it takes windows to boot each time? Do yourself a favor and at minimum get a Samsung EVO for your boot drive. Cooler: Why you are spending $150 on this when the cooling is relatively average is beyond me. For a dual radiator setup, its not that great performance. I don't know if its an aesthetics thing. Assuming its NOT then go with a Phanteks TC14PE and save $70 for even better cooling! CPU: With this budget is there a reason you AREN'T going for Skylake? Eurogamer's tech division did a comparison video and found it capable of more than 10% improvement in most games.
  8. From 1:20:00 is where this show really goes a bit nutty. They try and say the intended audiences of LMG and Nintendo are essentially the same... This is where the tech backgrounds and lack of business acumen of Linus and Luke really rears its ugly unsophisticated head. You guys are "communicating a message and looking for users to communicate that message back through user content" whereas Nintendo are selling products. The stakes are literally thousands of times greater for Nintendo. Just because a massive entertainment platform of Youtube exists for independent developers to make money through the use of Nintendo's products DOESN'T mean Nintendo are morally obligated to allow and approve of that profit pursuit. LMG is a firm built around information. Nintendo is one built around many many more things. Object to takedown notices and copyright strikes. Object to the lack of independent opinions outside of traditional media. But rejecting Nintendo's corporate policy of evidently believing its better to maximize control over what informs people's perceptions of their products is asinine and illogical in the extreme. The whole rant is an appeal to nostalgia and emotion - nothing else.
  9. Oh WAN Show, you used to be so good! Spotify shuttering free service Collusion is essentially anti-trust. I mean, isn't it essentially every other year that Microsoft or Google are slapped with sanctions for this sort of thing in the EU? Is this idea that the lawsuit would take so long even founded in any recent news or some historical fact? Or does it just require more syllables and therefore more time eaten from the show's schedule? C'mon. Saying these things that the a lawsuit on behalf of 'Spotify would take 10-20 years' is when I really started to lose respect for the hosts. With reference to Doping and ADHD This starts reasonably but spirals into Linus essentially going on an anti-diagnosis rant on the basis that people are different from one another... Oh, and he equates eSports pros' possible mental health obstacles to the many complexities he faced when he was diagnosed... at 8 years old. He also somehow believes ADHD isn't linked to family drama... Remind me again the age restrictions in ESL? What is he even talking about anymore? Siigh, maybe I'm just tired. And there were good moments, too. They covered Japan's nuclear power stuff and the Nebraska Fiber line well. But I check WAN to be better informed, not as a means to become irritated. It used to be useful - I could click to each topic I wanted and ignore the stuff I didn't. But as much as I appreciate Luke's humor, him being there seems to let Linus feel there's license to really go on tangents without necessarily a clear point in mind. I don't know. Maybe with the successful crowd funding campaign you want a show to speak to your most devoted fans who come more to see Luke and Linus than necessarily the news. If that's the case, that's mostly not me.
  10. In the latest Vessel video, Moving '6.1', Mr Yago briefly mentions a social media post about whether there should be more moving vlogs. I guess this means that there is some uncertainty within LMG about whether to keep this series up. Maybe this can be a place where we offer feedback for them? The uncertainty surrounding whether to do more MVlogs is understandable. LTT have done what, 7 in the last 10 days? But they offer a unique perspective on what goes into making this company function, which loyal viewers have a natural interest in. (Counting myself amongst them, seeing Mr Yago and Mr Lee bantering whilst working together on the chair was good natured; and we can see just how much 'fun' it is to work at LMG). However, too many videos in too short span of a time risks undermining channel growth for the more casual/new visitors, they way a 'Maintenance' banner on a site's homepage can really harm traffic. What do you all think they should do to solve this? A suggestion occurred to me that with production schedules get back on routine, to start dedicating like two days a week to future MVlogs? Like probably Monday and Wednesday - far enough away from WAN show. I'm sure whomever at LTT focuses most on channel management analytics can speak more to schedules, viewer trends and which days can be 'sacrificed', so to speak, for featuring the Vlogs. Either way, the MVlogs offer a great opportunity to experiment content for LTT without the risk of having to commit a whole day's video to it. For instance, Mr Van Berkel's small bit of affecting an accent whilst setting up a desk was fun, and could be part of a video in future about gaming furniture. But if it were the only thing for a whole 5min vid, would viewers find the novelty annoying? Stuff like this can be demonstrated in an accessible fashion as part of the amalgam that is a Moving Vlog. What do y'all thnk? Maybe more of you have grown weary of Taran's narration?
  11. "Is anyone even watching" HAS to be sarcastic I LOVE consumer, everyday videos like this. If LMG find less feedback on these type vids, I'd offer that these types are what peoples come across when they are looking for a video for a special use. For instance, the 'do RAM speeds really matter' wasn't one I think I commented on. But I must have shared it to at least a dozen friends since I came across it. Boosting Wifi? Totally worhwhile! Wish y'all did vids on functionality of stuff like Airport Express, repeaters and the whether there's a 'true' benefit to upgrading a router over what Time Warner/Virgin Broadband/XYZ-ISP provides most home users.
  12. Am I missing something, he compares it to the Razer Blade 2015 but hasn't released a review of that gaming laptop yet. Isn't that a bit of a fumble?
  13. Hi guys, So I don't get what people were positively gushing at Linus' video on wires, a day after another series was released with not only parts but subparts (i.e. 1a). I really don't understand i t whereupon he reveals that even his wife believes producing content like that is a poor choice. And then proceeds to entitle and distribute it. People were frustrated for months that more of 'Whole Room Watercooling' parts weren't being released. This, despite the fact the fact that the project was completed in August. What I don't get is why does it seem like people are just fanboy-ing it? As a regular viewer, the decision to release a part '1a' video after all the previous criticism, and then compound that with one on wires, felt like a slap in the face. My question: do you feel the same way or is this just a minority opinion?
  14. Got the initial recommendation from MKBHD and went ahead and bought 'em on his recommendation, since my Bose Ie2 cord has been wearing thin. But Linus' expansion of the support service is real reassuring. Especially since I haven't had a chance to use them yet due to mid-ear infection.
  15. So I'm really confused. Do I go to the link and then RESELECT the stuff I might already have in my basket? Amazon gives NO NOTIFICATION on the payment page that this is actually working. And reminds me of the old web 1.0 voting mechanisms. I probably drop $100/2months on Amazon and happy to support the LMG But the shout out he gives at the end of the video is lacking, to say the least
