  1. Hey, I just "solved" a problem that I had with youtube and HDR when I was trying to view 2160p60 HDR my frames started dropping, even 1440p60 HDR loses some frames, I have a 2700x and a GTX 1080 with 16gb ram, I can surely run 4k HDR I checked the tv had HDMI 2.0b, the GPU had 2.0b, checked if I have the correct cable, surefed the forums and found out the problem is that the GTX 1080 those not have vp9 hardware decoding, thats odd, as I can view 2160p60 non HDR content perfectly, turns out VP9 has profiles and VP9 profile 2 is responsible to deliver HDR video on youtube ironocally a 1030 and a 1050 can deliver HDR hw acceleration on youtube, regarding AMD systems I could only find a wikipedia source, and it those not list the VP9 versions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Video_Decoder hopes this helps people struggling with HRD on youtube source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VP9#Profiles https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-and-decode-gpu-support-matrix-new#Decoder https://www.reddit.com/r/ShieldAndroidTV/comments/mymhjs/lack_of_vp9_profile_2_4k_hdr_for_youtube_a/ https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/192919/question-is-vp9-decoded-in-hardware-on-any-nvidia-/
  2. both of the codecs suck donkey balls, realtek is not good on sound or drivers I sugest saving a few bucs on a external DAC if you need more then 2 channels, save a few bucs on a creative card or at least a asus sound card all of these 3 options will give you a better sound
  3. I have 8 speekers 7 small ones and 1 sub, so I need a 7.1 sound card, for 8 physical output channels
  4. Found this great tool to configure the DPI and in game sensitivity https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/
  5. I have been looking for a sound card for my 7.1 system as the my X-Fi Xtreme Music started to occasionally produce artefact sounds the cards I considered are listed below I really want a creative card but all of them are old, designed in 2008, the currently sold Audigy RX is even a downgrade from the X-Fi Titanium series and you can only get those refurbished or used, So seeking to find out if I can switch to an ASUS cards things to consider: the specs of hardware for both asus and Creative are top notch EAX is only used in some legacy games so creative has no edge here, as ASUS also has it's GX 3.0 emulation (it's almost on par with creatives DPS chip and alchemy) thou I don't know if the new ASUS cards listed below support it CMSS-3D vs upmix I only used creatives option witch works perfectly, actually this was the reason I decided to get a discrete card as the integrated realtek chip or software on my asus motherboard produced sound artefact when upmixig Drivers, the sound drivers for ASUS are awful https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?93764-How-is-Asus-new-soundcard-the-AE-Sonic-Studio Sp the irony is that the best 5.1/7.1 card is the 2008 Creative X-Fi Titanium line, Titanium 16 MB RAM Titanium Professional Audio PCI Express Asia-only variant of X-Fi Titanium with minijack-to-2RCA cable and EMI shield 16 MB RAM Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Essentially a Titanium Fatal1ty Champion card without the I/O drive box. 64 MB RAM Titanium Fatal1ty Champion UAA support and TOSLINK in/out added. 64 MB RAM Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_Blaster_X-Fi Asus cards I considered: Asus Xonar AE 7.1 ASUS Strix RAID Pro 7.1 ASUS ROG Xonar Phoebus 7.1 I think this is what Linus should have mentioned in his video, as stereo setups have a lot of choices these days
  6. I think his reason is more pooling + more DPI and decreasing mouse sensitivity in game if better then leaving sensitivity on default and just increasing the pooling rate and adjusting the DPI
  7. In CS go for example mouse sensitivity is not pooling rate
  8. Hi, one of my friends said: I set my mouse at max DPI and adjust the in game sensitivity, so that the mouse would track the surface better I think this is total nonsense, what is your opinion on this and how much DPI is enough? I found a topic about engine lag/oddness on higher DPI http://www.overclock.net/forum/375-mice/1631553-does-mean-800-dpi-best-pmw3366-also-cpate-says-higher-dpi-2-3ms-more-responsive.html A few videos related to this topic:
  9. I tried relive with dishonored 2 and my fps was affected significantly, I will take another shot maybe I missed something
  10. AMD Relive is relevent only on rx card, and on upcoming vega, Windows 10 GameDVR, is laggy, same as fraps
  11. HI i'm using a AMD 290x card and want to start recording games, those it make more scene to upgrade to a Nvdia 1080 gpu and use shadowplay or to upgrade from a fx 8000 to a ryzen? or recording triple a tittle on 60 fps is only fee sable using a device like extremecap u3
