Hi!

I'm in the video industry and I'm planning to build my own pc! Right now I have an old iMac with 4gb of ram and an i5 processor so I just need a bit more power.

I have a 1500$ budget for the computer (not including the monitors).

What do you recommend me?

With that budget I would go i7 4790k and GTX980 or 290 crossfire, but in all honesty this shouldn't be a blog :)

What processor model is it? If it's Sandy Bridge, it should still have a lot of juice. But if you really need that extra performance,  an i7 4790k. GPU wise, anything above a 970, SLI 970, 980, or the new R9 390x/980 ti coming soon will be enough.

CPU: i7 4790k 

MOBO: Asus Z97 Pro

RAM: 16gb of your choice(I would go with Corsair Vengeance)

GPU: GTX 970 but if you can a spend bit more, a 980 is really good. 

SSD: ADATA Premier Pro 120 gb (use this for the OS and important programs)

HDD: WD Black 1TB(2TB if you need more storage) for mass storage. 

PSU: Corsair CX 600watt. 

 

Now if you had a bit more money I might suggest a six core i7, and maybe a better GPU or adding another for SLI. Also I would suggest adding a cooler for the CPU.
