Inkypete 1 Posted September 15, 2014 Thank you guys I greatly appreciate it. I'll be building a new custom rig soon. I'll be using the air 540 again but a different color paint job inside and out and I'll be using the Asus x99 deluxe edition mother board. Link to comment Link to post
Assdwellingmnky 3 Posted September 16, 2014 Sweet build. How is the G10? Was there a significant increase in cooling power that you noticed? Inkypete 1 Link to comment Link to post
PCfees 10 Posted September 17, 2014 ^ I'm curious about that too. I have an R9 290 that I was planning on getting a G10 for, but I also heard from numerous sources that you'll need VRM heatsinks if you're going that route. They tend to get hot with that stock cooler off of there. Inkypete 1 Link to comment Link to post
Inkypete 1 Posted September 19, 2014 Assdwellingmnky- nice screen name by the way =) I tried it with two different closed loop liquid cooling systems first what the corsair H55, witch didn't make that much of a difference, just cooler by 2°- 3° playing BF4 maxed out. Switching to the AMD FX closed loop dropped it 6°- 8° with a pull fan configuration (fans-Noctua NF-F12) with fan rpm maxed out. PCfees- the G10 has a Fan set above the VRMs to keep them cool but how effective it is I'm not to sure. But it never hurts to add extra heatsinks to keep it cooler Lol. I personally haven't had any problems with over heating or high temperatures since I switched. I'll do some research on that and get back to you when I find something out. =) Thank you guys for the question I hope my answers helped you out. And thank you for liking my rig Link to comment Link to post
