how much performance do you generally get out of 2 asus 760s. been wondering whether i should get a second one

It's almost twice as much. I know this situation is rare, but with these two cards it actually happens.

Here, two Valley benchmarks. One before and one after SLI.

These are at default clock and memory speeds, no OCing. So you could get even better performance after OCing, but then heat would be a bigger problem.

Absolutely worth it, it only takes some time to set up everything properly for games and such, but once you're done, you can sit back and enjoy your butter-smooth gameplay in every game :)

do you know how much watage your system takes with the 2 cards. i got a 600w psu which i assume would be enough. never bothered to look it up though

Around 550W I'd say. 600W PSU would be... tight. But you can try it. Your PSU will be working at almost 100% during full load tho, so that's a one thing to consider.

try and use this little tool to calculate approximate wattage of your system: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

Anyway, when you get SLI, remember that you'll have increased heat on your cards. If I leave everything at default, I get about 75°C on the top one and 60-65°C on the bottom one.

But that is because the cards are always rendering so many more frames than needed. :)

I have a 60hz monitor and therefore, anything above 60fps is just, pointless. So I limited the FPS in all games to maximum 70FPS using MSI Afterburner

and now my cards are running nice and cool. Everything works like a charm now.

That's just a little tip if you decide to go for SLI. To save you the trouble and time. ;)

No problem man. Good luck with your build!

I also solved the heating of the upper card by putting an upper side fan as an exhaust fan.

So now I only have 2 intakes, lined up in the same row and everything else is an exhaust. Works great so far.

Let me know what you've done and post some pictures too when you upgrade your rig :)
