Parts Rational
- The FX-6300 while being an older architecture worked out perfectly for this build. Yes, it won't push more modern titles to their limits, but it still provides a very playable experience, and works well for a multitask-er on a budget.
- The Sapphire R9 290X is the black sheep of this build. In newer titles the FX-6300 will bottleneck this GPU, but I got it for the price of a R9 280X, So I figured the customer can at least enjoy a better experience in games that aren't extremely CPU bound while still spending the same amount of money.
- The Fractal Core 2300, I picked up this case on sale for $50. I'm fairly new to this case so I don't know if it was a perma-sale that you find on every online retailer's site (you know what I'm talking about Core i5 24% off, originally $300, now only $230), but I have to say for that price you are getting quite a bit. The Core 2300 has great airflow, is well built, and has a great aesthetic, that doesn't scream cheap like so many other cases in that category do. If I had one complaint I would say there is not enough room behind the motherboard tray.
- For the rest of the parts the rational is pretty much the same, they get the job done without breaking the bank.
