so this will be the first entry in to build blog of terror, step one beat head against desk, Step two calm down and scream at computer!

i have been steadily building this desktop over the last few months and have had nothing but a major pain in my ass the whole time from dead boards and video cards, to case's that at present pose a danger to my 800 dollar set up, as well as causing me a headache. i would also like to mention im running a mild over clock at 3762 MHz

D.I.Y PC case from newegg

NVIDIA GT 630

MSI 970A-G43

FX 6300

750 Watt powers supply " forgot manufacturer"

Two Roswell 120 mm case fans

Two off brand 120mm case fans

One HDMI to VGA converter" almost $50 "

so if anyone has any case suggestions they would be much appreciated, as well as any other ideas anyone may have to improve my system

will also post pics as soon as possible

Your choice of motherboard is certainly not making it any easier for you. The G43 and even the heatsinked G46 are well-known for their badly-designed VRMs. If you don't really need the small overclock, it might provide a little extra peace of mind to go without it, considering the delicacy of the G43.

The 750W PSU from "forgot manufacturer" is somewhat concerning, but about the case; the NZXT S340 is a popular case among budget and extreme builders alike, though I would definitely start with something from Corsair's lineup. They make cable management so easy for a beginner, and their cases are of decent quality (for the money) too.

Keep calm and build on! There's nothing more frightening than something not working during your first build, but it's always an important learning experience. Take it slow, take breaks as you go if you find it necessary, and everything will turn out well in the end. Good luck!

so part two to my on going build got my cooler master 212 evo yesterday installed it and my cpu temps sit in the 20c range added two case fans to the back of the motherboard and temps are steady at 39-41c even under load i am confident that i have the heat under control as long as the ambient air temp doesn't get extremely hot.

i will saying being new to building your own desktops can be very intimidating as well as confusing, i will say there is a plethora of information that is rather helpful
