  1. The parts included in the link have alr been bought? Additionally does the parts in the link include along with the budget given? Or are they outside of the budget?
  2. what's the use of rig? depending on the usage, and what u'd expect for the future, u should base the build off of that. Not meaning to sow any seeds of doubt before u state the usage, but why would u need a 13th series CPU? idk about the rep of eBay in AUS, but I'd suggest looking around on the internet for which company makes the best 3070/ti and searching for it on eBay. Just DONT try to evade eBay tax.
  3. Got to changing the settings and realized some settings are locked; brightness, contrast, temperature, and RGB are not customizable. I've tried the custom color option that comes with AMD's Adrenaline software, changed the brightness by 25% and it looks bad. Right now the brightness is locked to 50/100 directly on the monitor and reduced by 5% on AMD's software. Since I have glasses that reflect some light from screens, I don't really mind how bright the monitor is. I could just tell my family to suck it up since it's my monitor. Even with my glasses I can't help but be worried that the monitor still has the potential to damage my eyes. What should I do? extra: The monitor did not come with a manual, instead it came with an installation guide. I’ve also already contacted Nixeus’ CS, and waiting for their response.
  4. Is it alright to plug it into the new rig and then wipe, or does it have to be wiped beforehand?
  5. Some things to note. My old rig has now officially died as even the cpu does not post a janky screen(3700k). Anywho, my plans were to use the old rig to move any important files and the NUKE the drive afterwards. Now that the old rig(2013 hardware) has kicked the bucket, I wasn’t able to recover and then nuke the drive(just tried a few minutes ago). Is it still safe to plug it into relatively recent hardware? New rig Ryzen 5 5600 Red Devil 6600xt ASRock B550M Steel Legend DDR4 3200Mhz 2x8 1TB Adata Legend 840(clean) RM850x Old rig 3700k R7 290(unsure, but it’s a gpu from 2013) Unknown Mobo DDR3 4x16 4TB HGST(has files and OS) My plans for the old hard drive was to essentially reuse it as it has a lot of storage, even though it’s slow. It’s somewhat reliable, other than speeds, and I haven’t seen any storage issues, again speed. Initially it was NVME as boot and games, 4TB to throw random files at it. I’ve heard that moving a hard drive straight from an old rig to a relatively new one is a bad idea. So my question is whether I should consider it, or if the risks outweigh the benefits and I should scour for a fresh cheap 4TB hard drive. btw the files don’t really matter, there were some really specific settings on minecraft i would rather keep, but i wouldn’t want to brick my new rig over some settings i could just frankenstein the settings back to the new rig
  6. Been planning a new rig build after a much needed upgrade after my R7 270 died in my old 2013 hand-me-down. Long story short, I have most of my hardware safe ready to be pieced together. Then a friend contacted me saying that they have a 1050 they have that they are too lazy to use. Good friend, trust em. Is it possible to have the 1050 they gave me as a dedicated video encoder? As in, for encoding videos as such. 7. I've missed some context due to negligence. Context: I've been given a 600 dollar budget to buy wtv I need. My friends are providing RAM and SSD so I can focus on GPU, CPU, Mobo and others that could fit in my budget. The friend providing for the SSD gave the green light to deck out my rig. I am planning on paying them back, and the friend providing RAM is trading gifts with me. Weird but when is anything never weird? Additionally, if these components do not care about airflow, then I can just go with wtv. Thank for the feedback!
  8. links regarding to components at bottom I've recently bought most of the hardware for a build I'm preparing. I also realized that the case I bought comes with two 140mm fans, and I've bought an additional three 120mm fans. I was planning on having the 140mm for the intake at the front, and the remaining three 120mm as exhausts for top and rear. However, I've realized that the front panel can hold up to three 120mm fans. With that in mind should I buy an additional 120mm fan to have an alternative fan setup? With getting an additional fan this is what I had in mind; three 120mm intake at front, two 140mm exhaust at top, and a single 120mm as rear exhaust. I don't mind taking the time for more cable managing, and I've heard smaller fans are louder and I also don't mind that. Additionally I would also appreciate some recommendations whether the top exhaust should keep the dust filter, cause they're just blowing air away not in. 9. I see, thanks for the recommendations! What if I were to find a good beefy 2070, or 2080 on ebay? Should I opt for these instead of the 6600, or should I opt for a stronger AMD card like the 6600xt or 6700xt? I'm one step closer to finishing what hardware I should buy, thanks in advance! edit: mb i didn't click on the links before replying, most of the links lead to a 6700XT, I'll most likely opt for a 6700XT
  10. Does this mean that I should opt for any good priced RX 6600-6700xt and not any NVIDIA based GPU? In fact, is there any difference between the 2060 and the RX 6600? If there is what are the major differences that increase gaming experience, some light video editing, and some game streaming? if there are somewhat identical messages, i believe my previous message didn't go through
  11. Correct! I have a rough of what hardware I'll be buying, however, I'm still a bit confused on GPU as these should be something to splurge much more than the rest. Granted I have a 60hz monitor right now, the colors aren't the best but I am hopeful for an upgrade somewhere after spring hits. Currently if I were to go with the RX 6600 I could spend more on other items, perhaps some more case fans to cool down the temps. However, there are alternative NVIDIA GPUs on ebay that I can spend on, somewhere in the neighborhood of 250~280 USD is a good range. The question is whether I should consider buying a used 2060, 2060ti, or 2070 from ebay instead of the RX6600. Though getting an NVIDIA GPU would hit the budget quite hard, though that's not a problem.
  12. Thanks again for the recommendations. I believe I’ve found some great hardware: CPU: AMD 5600 nonX, found it goes down to $110 I’ll strike once it drops again Mobo: AsRock B550M Legend, $110 on newegg black friday Cooler: Thermalright Assassin X 120 $20 Storage: Samsung 970 evo 1TB, covered by friend RAM: G Skill 3600Mhz, covered by dif friend Case: Zalman S2 $50 absolute best I’ve seen, though there is no rubber CPU cutouts As for GPU, since I’m planning on not upgrading the major components: GPU, CPU, MOBO. I’m planning on splurging more on the GPU. Is the RX 6600 the best GPU where I’m currently standing in terms of hardware? +110 +110 +50 +20 ———— $290 remainder $310 I’ve considered the option of sticking to the RX 6600, add some p12, upgrade to Arctic Duo cooler. However, there are some really good deals of used 2070, heck even the ti version. Should I opt for an NVIDIA card even if they’re used? btw the rebate card sounds kinda a pain so I would consider the $190 MSI 6600 as $210
  13. Then they must be 4x16G, mb. I always remembered 2 sticks of RAM in the mobo each time I did some light fixing. Now I remember seeing different colored pairs of RAM in there.
  14. Thank you for the comprehensive reply. Just some comments. I chose MATX cases as they were cheap and fit all I would need. As for the CPU and GPU, I haven't considered these options, and I would definitely opt for your recommendations. Tax and shipping won't be accounted into my build as I won't be paying for it. Adding to that I currently have a great PSU, RM850x, and a friend of mine will buy me the RAM. 2x8G 3200Mhz Now that opens up more budget allocations for any other components. Considering once again the great recommendation of the CPU and GPU, what should I shill out more on? Considering I have around 200~300 left, best to assume I can only spend another 200 after considering CPU and GPU combined. Should I go with a better airflow case? Better CPU? Better mobo? Better storage? Once again $200 USD on either, or combination of some of these. ALSO, please consider that I won't be considering upgrading major components such as CPU or GPU as this build is supposed to last ~7 years. Extra NVME, RAM, CPU cooler is the top->low priority in terms of upgrades/expansions that can be considered as some of these can be bought at around ~$50 USD. Thanks again to those who are helping and have helped! I've considered most, if not all, the recommendations as of 11/4/2022.
