  1. Seems that everything is fine then. My motherboard is an H87M-D Plus if you still need it. Also I've already run a stress test and a couple of high end games to test out the card and so far I have had no errors or crashes. Thanks!
  2. So as the title says when I first installed my new graphics card (went from a 270 to a 390) it gave me a beep after the original post beep. It took a few seconds between the two beeps and now no longer occurs when I restart the computer. Whether it's an actual restart or a normal shut down it no longer does this but only did it at the beginning. Today hasn't been the most exciting day as I ran it to multiple problems (which are all solved now). I was just wondering if this had anything to do with the new card or if it was just a normal procedure. Windows did run some updates as well so it could be that. I am just curious but so far nothing has broken or given me symptoms of a problem. I'd still appreciate any clarification you guys could give me. Thank you!
  3. Wow. Honestly I am very surprised by how fast I got replies not even just one or two but 5 in just a matter of minutes thank you all so much. Now before I forget and have to make another thread I was wondering if I were to upgrade to a i5 4690k with no overclock will the PSU work as well?
  4. Hello everyone. Recently I've been looking into new graphics cards that I may want to upgrade to in the future and by far the one I am most interested in is the R9 390. The problem is that I am unsure of how much power this card really needs and if I really have to buy a new PSU. Eventually I will have to upgrade my PSU but I really want to use it as long as possible before having to get a new one. So the question I have is whether or not my XFX 550w 80+ bronze certified ATX power supply will be able to satisfy the needs of the r9 390. I've looked it up myself and many people say that it does work but others say that it won't. I'm not looking to overclock any time soon and will most likely buy a new PSU before I even slightly start overclocking, for both my CPU and GPU. In case it's needed my pc build currently: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/z7qCQ7 If any other information is needed feel free to ask. EDIT: So I ended up getting the MSI R9 390, and in case anyone else is interested, it definitely works. I ran the Heaven 4.0 benchmark and it worked perfectly with no problem with my XFX 550w psu. So if you have a good tier 2 or tier 1 psu you will be fine with it as long as you don't have a power hungry cpu.
  5. I'd like to skip the upgrade to a motherboard if possible since I am not too advanced in building my computer and want to just upgrade small parts. I will keep this in mind though so thanks
  6. I don't see much of a reason to upgrade to that since it isn't much of an upgrade. At least from the sources I looked at.
  7. Any cpu you would recommend with my current motherboard?
  8. I want to possibly upgrade to an Intel i7 4790 and to a GTX 970. The cpu doesn't matter in this question but thought I should give it anyways just for suggestions on different graphics cards and cpus for the price. Anyways the question I have is will the gtx 970 fit? I have it on pcpartpicker (link down below) and it says that it may block some drive bays. Now I also have a wireless adapter in one of the smaller pci slots (not exactly sure what they are called) and was wondering if I were to upgrade to a GTX 970 from my R9 270 if the adapter would still fit in the case. I can't use ethernet because I am too far from my router so the adapter is my only option. My current build is here: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/kFvC4D New build with GTX 970 and i7 4790: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/KFWzsY EDIT: I just checked and noticed that it says 230mm long. Could it mean drive bays as in the hard drive spaces and not actually any other pci slots? Sorry for the confusion I guess I didn't pay much attention.
  9. Like I stated above it was working fine before till January. I haven't moved my router or computer at all but I could try and see if I can move my router any closer. EDIT: I did what you suggested and surprisingly it actually worked I only moved it a few centimeters closer to the direction of my computer (so up since my router is in the basement and my pc is on the 3rd floor). Now I'm getting my usual 10-15 mbps Thank you for the advice!
  10. So as the title says for some reason I have been only getting around 4-5 mbps on this computer. When I tested the internet speed on my other laptops they were both stating the speed I usually have which is around 10-15 mpbs. I'm curious to why this is happening and if there is any way of fixing it. It has just started happening in January and was fine before that.
