  1. Budget (including currency): ~1600 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 90% web browsing, 10% games once a week. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm looking to update my current computer specs in bio.. Keeping the same 1060 **for now but everything else will be freshed. Im struggling on CPU choice currently. Do I get a 10700k because its essentially the same as the 11700k and I can take advantage of the 10700k price drop? Do I hop over to AMD? No idea where to start for CPU now adays. Do I wait for 11600k reviews to come out or are those going to essentially be the same as the 10600k as well. PCPartPicker link: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/Luc401/saved/kKw899
  2. Do they still display correctly when only 1 is plugged in? Ive witness monitors in the past, when a new and old monitor are placed next to each other that an electromagnetic thing happens and damages the new screen.
  3. It depends on what triggers them, but in general yes they will turn back on after a reboot. If you want them not to turn back on, look under services and see which one it could be. You can disable them.
  4. I think you mean device manager? Depends what you're disabling, sometimes you can just re-enable it. Edit - If its a service or a startup program, yes you can re-enable it.
  5. I use angry hosting for my website... $1 a month plan..
  6. East Coast Canada shipping to west coast California, is expensive. But yeah i feel bad throwing it out, but yeah might be able to give it away for parts.
  7. I honestly will if you pay for the shipping.
  8. Honestly.. When I have issues with window machines having high harddrive usage, I just reformat them. It might be good to check out resource monitor and check out some stats in there.
  9. I had a GTX ASUS 670 die on me 2 years ago and its been just sitting in a draw since then.. Ive tried contacting asus, but its out of warranty and I dont really want to pay 50$ for shipping plus a repair cost. I also tried taking it apart and replacing the thermal compound but no luck. So yeah.. should I just dispose of it or what? Pictures of card attached. Thanks
  10. You run the server through a batch script with an argument of ram allocation. EX: "java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.1.8.9.jar nogui" Xmx****M is how much ram
  11. Could be, my go to would be redownload the driver.
  12. Hey, Still trying to get my old 670 that I was about to throw away working. Today i plugged it into my PC and all fans were at 100% with no video. I removed the cooler and cleaned the old thermal paste and applied new thermal paste as posted in the pictures. The old themal paste was A LOT more than there should have been and it was harden'd.Put it all back together and still nothing. Any one have anymore suggestions before it goes in the trash?
  13. You could get 10 gigabit nics for both? Or even fiber together.
  14. Hey, Im from Moncton NB. So im not to far away from you. Thanks for the tips.
