  1. welp, i went from 48 cores down to 16. but atleast we're putting in some production again!
  2. even on the official supermicro adapters you will find it still screws into half of the 3,5" bracket. so you could still use those and just 3d print some spacers to fit them into the other side. i'm fully aware, i have exactly those.
  3. I have literal mountains of 2,5" drive sleds for these servers just laying around. I could send you 4 for free if you're willing to cover shipping. Im from the netherlands tho so shipping could be expensive.
  4. i would love to, but just today my main 48-core EPYC died
  5. welp, that's the end of this run i suppose: guess i'll be shopping for a new EPYC chip this weekend.
  6. I cant really vouch for vyos tbh, but we only have 1 machine running vyos in deployment and no one knows how it was setup exactly cause the person that did it left the company and didn't write docs. So I might be slightly biased
  7. noice! what OS do you plan to run here, just OPNSense?
  8. You made this entire complaint without even watching the video?
  9. this one is already 5K tho, if MS increases the price even further who is even going to buy this?
  10. servers like this usually come with remote management (BMC's) directly on the motherboard. Do you see any RJ45 ports on the back? usually one of those is marked as the dedicated management port.
  11. Gotta store those linux isos somewhere!
  12. honestly having one of those racks for your homelab would be pretty sick. i'm not even talking about the aging hardware inside, just the personalised racks with the lettering on them
  13. I knew it was a thing on server/workstation platforms, but never knew it was a thing for consumer hardware!
  14. i don't know what i did last maintenance window to create this, but my PPD graph on EOC has been stupidly consistent ever since.
