  1. stuff... lots of it

  2. it seems like it did make stuff run better but now the post screen doesn't disappear and it is merged with the windows load screen. hopefully drivers and such will fix that. Solved, that worked, but i still have the post screen from the MSI mobo overriding the windows login screen minus the rotating circles.
  3. I suppose i'll try that today, such a pain to have to do that tho.
  4. Hello guys, recently purchased an i7 4790k processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369&cm_re=i7_4790k-_-19-117-369-_-Product as well as an MSI Gaming 5 Mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130770&cm_re=MSi_gaming_5-_-13-130-770-_-Product and my system was previously using the specs listed here (i haven't updated since the purchase of the aforementioned products) http://linustechtips.com/main/user/200175-colossal55/ Everything boots up fine however I can't seem to go more than 5 or so minutes before my programs freeze up, the mouse is fine, there are no particles on the screen. It simply stops working and remains in an infinite load circle that windows 8 does. another thing, when i do power down normally (using power or in OS options to power it off) it does not turn off. the screen goes however the cpu fan, case fans and led's remain lit on the tower and do so for about 10 mins before finally powering down.

Potential Buy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=-1&IsNodeId=1&Description=hydro%20h110&bop=And&CompareItemList=-1%7C35-181-032%5E35-181-032-TS%2C35-181-035%5E35-181-035-TS&percm=35-181-035%3A%24%24%24%24%24%2 My current Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147053&cm_re=thor-_-11-147-053-_-Product So i'm new to the LinusTechTips Forums, so if I placed this in the incorrect i'm sorry and please link me to the right location. Eitherway I was looking into purchasing a closed loop cpu cooler since i've never touched watercooling and I figured a pre-done solution is my best bet to avoid any issues. My question is: Will either of these cooling solutions fit my case? I was leaning to putting the radiator on the top of the case and removing the fans the case comes with in order to do it. It is a rather large case and i've yet to have issues with fitting anything in it. I was also thinking of purchasing the larger radiator since based on the little I know, "larger radiator = Better cooling"
  6. Chance at that Hardline build :D
