Hey Guys,,
I have a question about the new thunderbolt 3 standard. I know it uses usb type -C connector and is capable of several modes like Display port, USB power delivery , etc. So here's my question, the usb 3.1 standard supports upto 10Gbps speeds. But thunderbolt 3 supports upto 40Gpbs. So how can it use USB type-C that only supports 10Gbps? My guess is that it only uses the type-C physical connector. I know this is a noob question but can anybody clarify? Thanks
