Hi everyone,
I am planning out my first gaming build and I need your suggestions. I have been watching YouTube, Linus's Channel, NewEgg channel and others trying to decide what parts to buy and how to build it. The actual building doesn't seem that difficult. I am planning on reusing the case and DVD drive I have now and replace the guts completely. This is what I am thinking of.....

CPU Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core$234.66
Motherboard MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming ATX LGA1150$124.99
Memory Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600$82.99
Storage A-Data XPG SX900 128GB 2.5" SSD$75.81, Samsung 840 EVO 750GB 2.5" SSD$389.99
Video Card Asus GeForce GTX 760 X2 4GB DirectCU II$599.99
Power Supply EVGA 1000W ATX12V$142.98
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit)$128.98
Total: $1780.39
I am more concerned with performance, especially since it will be strictly a gaming rig. I was think of the 2 SSD's, one for the OS and the other for games. Mostly Battlefield series, Medal of Honor and maybe some Steam stuff.
Of course there is the Intel/AMD debate which can go on forever as we all know. Also the i5 vs i7 debates
As far as a CPU cooler I have no idea. Water or Air and what brand.
The 1000 watt PSU because I am thinking of going SLI someday plus my estimated wattage is 517 watts before a cooler. Also I have never overclocked before and would be a little nervous about it so I'm not sure if I should spend the extra money on an unlocked CPU or not. It seems pretty easy for what I see online.
I figure I had this one built in 2009 and cost me $2700 and now it can't get out of its own way.
I'm not planning on the build for another few months until I get more information ( and money ), but I want something that will last me awhile..
Sorry for the long posting and thanking everyone on advance for their help, knowledge and suggestions,
Rick the newbie computer killer... I mean builder
