When turning on the Computer it will start booting very normally, the UEFI sign shows up for a split secound, then the windows sign appears and the loading ring. However after a few secounds the loading ring just freezes and the Computer stops responding. I have tryed changing the harddrive and booting into a Windows 10 fresh install USB -stick, but here again the windows sign appears, and then just before it is about to disappear it freezes... The Windows automatic repair option, safe mode ect. also freeze before any pressable button even appears. The next thing i tryed was swapping the RAM, but this also didnt fix the issue. The computer still boots into the Bios without a problem and displays every component correcty. But if i try booting into anything that is not the bios it just freezes before i can press anything PC specs: CPU: i7-4790k cooled with a Noctua NH-D15 MB: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H (rev1.0) (Bios vers.F7) RAM: 24gb 1600mhz (2*8gb, 2*4gb) GPU: GTX 1080 Palit PSU: BeQuiet Dark Power 11 750w (PS: ples dont tell me its a GPU thing i dont want do deal with the GPU market RN ) Thank you for your advice in advance

It was about 2 Years ago that my Computer got unusually hot during Summer, during intense gaming settions my CPU started hitting upto 80-90°C. Which was very freightening to me since it normally never got any hotter then about 50-60°C (and i have my CPU since mid 2014). So i started looking deeper into my BIOS settings and getting back into overclocking... I noticed that although i had never changed anything in the Voltage department, my CPU core Voltage was hitting up to 1.44V, on the (Auto) setting! Also its just exceding its Powertarged (sometimes up to 150w) although it is set at 88wTDP Looking at forum Post of other 4790k users their auto Voltages usually would be around 1.15V so MUCH lower. After reading some more and watching some Overclocking guides I figured since my Mainboard didnt really seem to know what it was doing i would just set all my important Bios settings manually (Like Vcore, RingV ect). Lowering it to 1.25Vcore and 1.12 RingV has basicly been stable for the last two years and even granted me a bit of an overclock to 4.5Ghz. Now after two years i m still woundering what causes my Mainboard to set the Auto Voltage to 1.44V tho... I am just a bit worried that i might damage the Cpu by having it run at 1.25V all the time (for some reason the Voltage Offsetoptions are greyed out) and want to adjust the Voltage so it can relax a bit when its not under load... So i tried flashing a new BIOs onto my Mainboard, version F7 to be exact (the newer ones only seem to adress Gen5 Cpus), but that didnt change anything... Anyone have ideas whats going on or what i might want to change in my Bios? Motherboard: Gigabyte ga z97x-sli lga 1150 Ram: g.skill ripjaws x series 16 gb (2x8) ddr3 1866 Processor: Intell Core i7 4790k I might want to sell my old computer in the future, but I have an issue with the ram where i might not beable to sell all of the machine. The ram only works in the 1 and 2 slot positions instead of 1 and 3 like normal modern pc's. I don't know how dual channel or single channel ram works I've tried all other combinations and even tried putting 4 of the same modules in. I was wondering if that's a thing with the type of motherboard I have, is it a setting I need to configure, or is something wrong with the ram slots or bent cpu pins?

Hey all, First time posting and in need of help! My PC i built in 2013, suddenly today turns on and off every 3 seconds. I am not able to get the PC to post nor am I able to Boot to BIOS. I also notices that these two LEDs on my motherboard labeled MBIOS and BBIOS keep cycling back and forth. The PC turns on and BBIOS LED would shine, then after a second that LED would turn off and switch to the MBIOS LED turning on where immediately, the PC would shut down and turn back on 3 seconds later but this time with the MBIOS LED on and turning off immediately when it switches to the BBIOS LED. If left on it would continuously alternate between starting with one of these two LED's on and then turning off once it swapped to the other LED. Sorry for the wordy-ness. Thing's I've tried (each step builds on the previous step, nothing was put back): Pulled out RAM ---> Issue persists Took out GPU (both the PSU cables and from the slot) ---> Issue still persists Took out all Peripherals and HDD/SSDs (disconnected both SATA and SATA power) ---> No changes here chief Took off all connectors to the motherboard except, the 4+4 pin CPU and 24pin ---> still no luck Reset CMOS by both taking out battery for 1 min and with screwdriver ---> Nope. Bought new PSU (need one for need build soon anyway ---> unfortunately no dice. Tried to turn on without CPU (apparently this will not allow POST but allow you to get into BIOS??? I read it online) ---> RESUME on and off cycle! Everything i tried resulted in the same exact behavior nothing changed. I believe I have isolated the problem to the motherboard, but what do you fine folk think? Is there a chance at saving this system? I want to give it to my younger brother to play games while i build myself a new system since his laptop is literally falling apart and is being held together by duck tape. My system Specs: i5-4690K @ 4.6GHz (been overclocked to this speed for over 5 years) Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H Black Edition NZXT Kraken X41 MSI Gaming R9 290X 8GB GDDR5 Stock settings 4x4GB DDR3 1866MHz CL9 Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer RAM BeQuiet (old) 650W /Corsair RMx 850W (new) PSU NZXT H440 Case 250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD 500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD 750GB Toshiba 5400rpm HDD from my old laptop All these specs have remained unchanged for at least 5 years. I BUILT THIS BAD BOY RECENTLY, AND HE HOLDS UP EXCEPTIONALLY AMONG OTHER MORE BEEFY BUILDS. Hugo costs around $1500 USD given purchases are made from the most economically efficient merchant. Starting from the outside to the back-plate, Hugo is built inside of a White NZXT H440 Windowed Mid-tower Case and made possible by his motherboard, the Gigabyte Z97x Gaming 5. Lots of room for cable management and a top of the line heat sink or radiator; I went with the Noctua NH-D15 heatsink because of it's critical acclaim for being one of the beefiest heatsinks on the market. With 2 140mm fans bound against two seven prong radiators, it keeps my i5-4690k cool as a cucumber in December. (i5-4690k overclocked to 4.4GHz at 1.19 V) Next on the list, is my choice of memory which consists of two Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600MHz 8 GB dimms. For storage, I tucked a 1 TB Seagate Barracuda HDD and a Crucial MX100 250 GB SSD within the roomy drive bays (Perhaps another SSD for RAID O?). My GPU is the go-to GTX 970 Windforce revision and underneath it lies its neighbor sound card, Soundblaster Z. With the Corsair RM-750 PSU powering this whole rig, I decided to mount 2 Noctua NF-A14's to the top vent since there is such an insane amount of power headroom. Hugo runs like a champ on so far any games I have thrown at it -- that meaning, my entire Steam Library, Battlefield 4, Titanfall, the works. If you want good performance and a toasty room, Hugo has you covered. P.S. Why the name Hugo? My local grocery store sells a giant hoagie sandwich for $5 dollars and it's called The Hugo. I had upgrade my motherboard from Asus z87 pro to Gigabyte z97x gaming g1 about 8 months now (use with i7 4770k). At first the mobo work perfect without any issue after 6 months it still seem great, then one day I left for winter vacation for about a month after I get back mobo doesn't respond no led indicate even the day I left it still doing great. It dead some how without using for a month then I send back for repair after 2 weeks I get it back, mobo respond perfect. I assemble and boot there is no problem except pci-e adapter it doesn' detect the third GPU (I think it may cause by PLX that doesn't have in asus mobo while I switch back during repair). I update windows then every fix ready to use. Something begin to happen after I try to play game. At first the game sudden quit some how after 10 min then I think it may software issue because i swap mobo. I re-install windows then I try again game still sudden quit and freeze. I try delete the game and re install it still happen. After I try again pc freeze I have to force restart. I try test benchmark, result is same as playing game. It sudden not respond sometime freeze sometime BSOD. PC able to post boot, browse internet, daily use is fine, but doing thing intense it freak me out.Playing game = freeze, not respond, sudden quit, BSODHeaven Benchmark 4.0 = freeze, not respond, BSODAida64 = freeze, not respond, BSOD, warning; hardware fail detected! stop test with in 1-5 minI send it back again for repair. this time quite fast i get it back after a week wonder do they fix anything. I assemble and try so far so good then open Heaven Benchmark 4.0......LOL not again!! still the same. I contact them and tell the problem they give me solution it doesn't fix.If everything fix well with clean install software then BIOS i think. After repair mobo they install the latest version which protect from downgade. What I wonder is Bios because I cant downgrade. I use i7 4770k, the time brought the mobo i cant remember the bios version but i guess it is F7 according date release. While repairing i use the old asus z87 pro there is no problem ( Same Hardware )Anyone have any idea about this Issue? Thanks,

Hello All, I've got a set of Sennheiser G4me Ones and i'm wondering if it really would make a difference in the sound quality if I decided to get a External DAC or Soundcard for them. I currently just run the audio through the integrated audio on my Gigabyte Z97x motherboard, the quality seems okay but I kind of feel like there might be something missing from it. I don't really know a whole lot about audio necessarily, but it's still important to me to have a great audio experience. I listen to a good bit of music (mostly high-bitrate FLAC files) and I obviously game quite a bit, so a good and powerful audio experience means a lot to me. To be entirely honest I have absolutely no idea how this Motherboard's audio really compares to others so that's why I'm on the fence about getting a DAC/Sound Card or not. Would it be worth it to get a decent Sound Card/external DAC (preferably one that doesn't break the bank) and if so, why or why not? Massive thank you to anyone kind enough to give me a bit of advice.

Hey folks, the last time I built a rig is 5 loong years in the past with much less of a budget. Please treat me like a total n00b for this one I want to assemble a new (mostly) gaming rig at ~1.5k€ and was wondering, if the parts I selected are compatible and if this system as I want to assemble it would support my very first OC. Would you recommend any better parts for the cause that arent financially out of reach?
