Hi! I just installed a new mothermoard in my pc because the postal service dropped my pc when I was moving and my old mobo was destroyed. My problem is that my samsung 950 pro 256 gb is not currently working, i cannot find it in windows or in the uefi bios. The 950 pro was working just fine on my old motherboard, which was a MSI Z97A Gaming 7 and I could not find any new or used of the same kind so i had to get an other motherboard. I now have: Msi z97 Gaming 5 2x Gainward GTX 970 Intel I5 4690k EVGA Supernova 1000 g2 PSU Samsung 950 pro 256 GB HyperX Fury DDR3 1600MHz 4x4GB WD SE Enterprise 1TB SATA3.0 ASUS PCE-AC68 AC1900 Is it not compatible or something like that?

Hello Everyone. Unfortunately, despite being in an industry where the hardware is put under constant stress (Motion Graphic Design and VFX) I don't have the budget for a new system and I'm rocking an i7 4790K (stock speed) paired to a MSI Z97 Gaming 5. Recently I have started using some effects and techniques that put extra strain on the CPU and I have been experiencing 99° Celsius (210° F) and that can't be good.... I already have air conditioning active and a cooling fan blowing on the computer case but it's still not good enough (very hot place I live in). I wanted to purchase a double slot (2 fans) liquid cooling system for my CPU, but being the i7 4790K a bit old I'm having a hard time finding a model which is compatible with the old LGA 1150 socket my motherboard has. Do you have any recommendations for some models that are available on mainstream buying platforms? (preferably Amazon, as I have Prime). I only know of the Corsair H100i, which doesn't seem to be available at the moment. I want something functional, I don't want to spend extra money on cosmetic features like RGB and stuff (of course if only an RGB model is available I'd still get it). Purchasing a new cooling solution is quite urgent; I can't comfortably wait for products to come back in stock. Hello LTT community, I have a rather strange issue occurring with my build I built 3 years ago. I put it to sleep last night like I always do, and then when I woke up this morning it would not power on. The first thing I thought was that it was the PSU. I did the paperclip test and it seemed to confirm it. I went and got a new PSU and brought it home from the store. (Brand new). I plugged it all in, nothing. Still would not power on and was making a clicking noise. PC Specs: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 i7 4790k Corsair RM 650x (the new PSU) Hyper X Fury RAM 4 x 8GB EVGA GTX 980 Troubleshooting I have done and achieved; - I took all components out and checked them for damage - Checked for any black bits on the motherboard - Checked my wall supply, it's not that. Then I went onto change all the cables from the old PSU cables to the new PSU cables. Whilst doing this I replaced the CPU Cable and tried to turn it on and to my amazement I GOT POWER AND THE FANS STARTED TO SPIN! At this point I started to put all my RAM back in (I had one stick in when I got the boot), I put my GFX Card back in, connected it all back up, plugged in the power cable... aaaaaand it's gone again, but this time it made some weird noises like things were working and then just cut off, not fan spin tho. So I've taken it all apart again and tried to emulate the situation I managed to get the boot to occur in before and now I get a RED FLASH from the AUDIO BOOST part of the motherboard and that's it. The motherboard is MSI Gaming 5 Z97 - I don't know if this is some sort of Motherboard error code to tell me something isn't right, or if it's just a sign of life? Anyone with any help would be greatly appreciated. TL;DR (Kind of); Computer wouldn't power on and was hearing a clicking noise when pressing power button, bought a new power supply, plugged it in, didn't work same clicking noise. Changed cables around and found the CPU cable looked to be the issue, got a single boot, turned it off, plugged everything back in, wouldn't power on, and now I'm not getting a clicking noise I'm getting a RED FLASH on the AUDIO BOOST part of the motherboard. Hello. I mostly use my computer for work (2D and 3D animation), so i want to get the most performance from my CPU as possible. After 3.5 years owning my i7 4790k i finally decided to overclock it from 4 to 4.5 GHz. Upon following some guides, and the advice of some friends, i managed to overclock with CPU to these settings: Motherboards: MSI z97 Gaming 5 - OC Genie Disabled - Adjust CPU Ratio: 45 (4.5 GHz) - Adjust Ring Ratio: 43 (4.3 GHz) - Overclock Mode: Fixed (same for all the cores) - Core voltage: 1200 (1.2 v) (The original voltage of my chip was around 0.95) - Voltage Mode (Override) - Memory Overclock (X.M.P profile 1, which basically set the settings automatically to reach 2133 mhz) Everything went perfectly. The system is smooth, no crashes upon intense stress tests and performance are better. I'm only worried about one thing, temperatures. I have a single slot radiator liquid cooling system from corsair, and after 1 hour of AIDA64 at 100% usage i get a max value of 91° Celsius (196 F°), with an average temperature just before stopping the test at around 86° Celsius (187 F°). Is this suitable? I know that stress tests like this are pretty rare in a real world usage of a CPU (on idle my chip stays around 33-35° Celsius), but quite some times i render 3D stuff, so it might happen quite frequently to have a high utilisation for 1-2 hours straight. Should i set 4.4 GHz at 1.95v or change some of the settings? (like the override mode) Or do you think i should experiment and lower the voltage a bit while keeping 4.5 GHz, specially considering the very low voltage my CPU originally came from the factory with? Is there a way i can disable or turn off the leds on my z97 gaming 5 motherboard from msi?

Ok , after I upgraded to Z97 , my PC would not Post , turn on for longer than 1 second. I RMAd the powersupply , and the Motherboard , I also bought a new CPU , i7 4770k. ( not here yet ) That was my PC , the new motherboard and powersupply already got shipped. But I wanted to know what really could have caused this , the cpu maybe ? it was a G3258 and the Bios on my Mobo was compatible , I contacted MSI and they confirmed that my serial number had a compatible BIOS. I tested with a new powersupply , the pc can turn on but still cant enter the bios. The retailer service says it was a bent motherboard pin , but could that really cause the problem ?
