Hi everyone, I recently created a system image of my PC on an external HDD. After much though I decided I want to delete the image because I can't physically access my files from the image, and want to do a regular backup. I can't seem to delete the image in control panel and it looks like the only option is to delete the WindowsImageBackup folder created on the external HDD. My question basically is if deleting that folder is safe? Thanks

I'm upgrading my pc to windows 10 from 7 and while trying to backup 7, before installing new parts, the backup fails. I bought a 500GB SanDisk portable ssd to use as my windows backup drive. I have windows 7 installed on a 128GB ssd and I have two 1TB hdds for storage. When I start windows backup I choose to only backup the 128GB ssd as that has my OS. I reformatted the ssd from exFAT to NTFS to see if that helped but I get the same error. I contacted SanDisk support and they said, after asking me if the ssd can store files which it can, it was a windows problem and to call Mircosoft. "Windows Backup failed while trying to read from the shadow copy on one of the volumes being backed up." Error code: 0x81000037. I've made a few posts about this but haven't really seemed to come to anything that would find the problem. Im having a problem with high cpu usage it started I want to say at the beginning of the month after a Windows update and gets worse and worse everyday. Also when im gaming and even when I just have a few tabs open on my pc and the specs are not bad at all I have tried many things like rolling back gpu drivers, clearing junk files, ending tasks on task manager and running games on low graphics and low frame rate which have help a little bit but with a pc with specs like mine it should have zero problems running games. The temps are fine I have an io cooler and its usually at about 45-55 when gaming so I know its not over heating. I've tried many things and I was thinking I might just have to come to conclusion and try and roll back windows and use an older version because after that update at the beginning of October it started having problems. If I do go through with the the older version of windows I dont want to accidentally try and lose everything on my system and windows itself I saw that you need a 16gb usb drive to fully back up windows and I was wondering if I might need a larger one to keep it on. Sorry for writing a whole paragraph.. I just want to play some games and in peace without my game stuttering nonstop .Also if anyone has ideas as too what the cause of the high cpu usage could be id really appreciate it thanks guys! I need help I have all the hardware but cant figure out the software I have a backup server built with 2x 320gb and 2x250gb drives i had lying around then I bought 2x 8tb drives I have freenas installed on the server and I have tries 3 different times to get a samba share I can add to windows file history (on my gaming desktop) at first I just made a volume with the origional 4 drives and made a samba share in it, I could mount it on my pc and login with the account I made on the freenas server but windows refused to let me back up to it so then I looked up windows stuff and tried to enable active directory but that just made it so i couldn't mount the share anymore now I have the 8tb drives and im looking at the "share modules trying to figure it out but I just dont know what I need to do if anyone could tell me exactly what I need to do to setup this server to make a samba share I can add in windows backup I would be really greatfull (between every try I hookup a monitor to the server and use the console reset to factory defaults option)

Hello, let me start by first telling you my DRIVE ARRAY. I have 2x 80GB Intel X-25m SSDs (windows boot drive, hackintosh drive) I have 2x 1.5TB Seagate Barracudas (storage for my boot drive(users folder), and a media drive where I have all of my adobe cache and media files) I have 2x 2.0TB Seagate Barracudas (One is my backup drive for Windows Backup, for my Storage and Boot drive, the other is a brand new blank one that is sitting off to the side not used right now, the reason I mention this is because if someone thinks that one of my drives is corrupt beyond recovery, I can at least use this drive in place of the corrupt one). So a few weeks ago (don't know why I am getting to this now) when i booted up my computer, CHKDSK wanted to run on all local drive plugged in(except hackintosh SSD) and it said that they were corrupt or something, not sure. I ignored it and skipped it every time for a while figuring its not a big deal, and then I tried to run a Windows Backup and it failed because it said "Some files were not backed up" because it cannot read Disk C:\ on Disk C:\ or Disk X:\(storage for users folder) on Disk X:\. My media drive does not get backed up in Windows Backup. So basically a ton of stuff was skipped including my Desktop, Downloads, Pictures, Videos, Documents, basically my whole storage drive/users folder and boot drive. Clearly something is wrong with the drives and I honestly cannot remember what I did to cause this or something, maybe it wasn't me but IDK. Anyways I would imagine that they have bad disk blocks or something, but all of my data is readable, but what should I do? Should I run long tests on Sea Tools? But then how would I fix my SSD? I really want to fix this without junking any drives(more because it is such a pain in the ass) and I would prefer not to a re-install of Windows, but clearly I will if I need to. What programs can I use to check for data integrity and bad disk blocks, and what steps would i need to take for doing this with an SSD? Because it seems that with the flash memory it would be different than actual HDD platters. Oh and I ran the Intel SSD Toolbox and ran a full diagnostic scan on both SSDs, it appears that they checked out OK. Thanks!

I have recently bought a 4TB hard drive for my backup. I already have a 3TB and a 2TB drive and was wondering it it would be sensible to raid 0 the 3TB and 2TB drives and then do a daily windows backup. would this be a safe option or is there a better way to go about this?
