Hi all, i seen this case mod for the SPEC-01 that removes the HDD bay I understand how to remove the HDD bay and that, that's not a problem, however this user as able to place it into the ODD bay to suspend their hard drives, any tips or solutions on how to do this with minimal hassle Tools etc arent an issue, just wondering if anyone has done anything like this before and are able to provide any help; because, to my understanding, the HDD bay has been cut down to size, however in doing so this would(?) remove the mounting holes for the screws. Hi everyone! Before you call me stupid, let me tell you why I decided to cram Corsair's H110i V2 240mm AIO water cooler in the midtower SPEC-01 case. My uncle gave me a $100 gift card to Best Buy as a present, and decided that because I have an FX-6300, why not overclock it and buy an AIO? The H110i seemed like a good idea, as I could use it as my main cooler for any future builds. (and the Corsair logo is RGB!) When I actually tried to put it in, I found out the AIO was not supported by my case. After some Googling, it doesn't look like anyone else has done it. But this is the LinusTechTip forums, surely Linus would find a way to ghetto-mount something. I'm making this guide as a reference for anyone else that might run into my problem. So... on to forcing this thing in without breaking any components. And all you need is a hammer. The Problem Obviously, the cooler wouldn't fit nicely, but it can fit. On the top right, you can see that the 5.25" ODD bays were in the way by a little bit. The RAM also cut close, but it's low enough to clear it without any pressure on it. The CPU is also pretty close, so getting the AIO actually passed its own tubing was hard. The Solution It wasn't hard to get in the case without the motherboard in as well, but because the distance between the fans and CPU is so small, the motherboard had to go in first. You can see that my top 5.25" bay is also partially empty; it's occupied by a front panel USB/Card reader. I used that empty space as a way to angle the AIO into the two top 120mm fan mounts on the SPEC-01. But the 5.25" cage was still in the way. I actually took a hammer to flatten out the cage's rounded edge, as you can see in the picture. Flattening out the cage actually made enough room for the AIO to line up with the mounting holes. Finished Product Again, this post is only me documenting how I did it, in case anyone runs into the same problem. But thanks for checking it out anyways!

Hi guys! I would like to build a PC. It's kinda hard to decide what to build, since i don't have enough money to build like a $1,500 PC. I've seen some budget build on youtube just around $400-$550. Those seems to be pretty good, but not as good as something I could build. I mean I could build it but I don't have the $$$ to buy it at once. I was thinking to buy a few parts of a high end pc and later on buy the rest of it. Well it might be a good idea but i'm not really sure if i should even bother with it and actually make it or not because of the price differences between each part is ridicilous. I was also thinking to build a somewhat power efficient build like this: -Intel Pentium g4560 -gtx 1050 ti -MSI B250M PRO-VDH -2x4gb 2400mhz kingston ram -be quiet bn267 power supply -zalman z1 neo -samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd -1TB WD blue hdd Now i could buy this setup without any problem even now. It's a pretty good build. For now i don't even have a 1080p monitor, just a 720p. So for my 720p monitor this is an amazing build and i could add + 2x4gb ram later on. There is are probably upgradeability path for this machine with an i5 or i7 non-K cpu + rx 480 or maybe a gtx 1070 or at least 1060(but i would rather not buy the 1060). And that's it, a fairly good performing pc and life is good. I could even add some RGB led lights into the case or more hdd/ssd. Well the other build that i would like to build does costs more. I could possibly save some money by buying less expensive components. For example i would like to get an Z270 motherboard with a I7-7700K cpu. But there is a lot to chose from. For example ASUS has a dozen of this motherboard. They cost differently because of the features they have. I would go with asus rog strix z270e gaming motherboard maximum. But there are also cheaper choices like the Gigabyte ga-z270-gaming k3 motherboard that has everything that i might need. Just it doesn't support SLI, it only supports crossfire. But then ther is the gigabyte ga-z270x-ultra gaming motherboard that supports sli but it costs like $40 more. Also, why would I choose an i7? I know that the i5 is enough for gaming, i could just go with an i5-7600k, but i would rather have those extra threads for smoother gameplay. I know an i5 would be just fine enough, but the problem is that te i5-7600k costs almost $300 in my country it's too much for that cpu. The i7-7700k costs like $405. Which isn't that bad considering it costs like $350 in general. Well here is the build that i would do maximum: -Intel I7-7700k -ASUS STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING -ASUS ROG STRIX Z270E GAMING -2x8gb Kingston savage 3000mhz ram. -be quiet! Pure Power 9 700W (BN269) -Corsair Spec-01 Case -Samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd -2tb of WD blue hdd OR Seagate BarraCuda 2TB -Cooler Master Hyper 212x cpu fan cooler OR Corsair H80i V2 liquid cooler. Now this is a really great build. I could add + 2x8gb of kingston 3000mhz ram + another GTX 1070 and more storage + even more RGB lighting and such. The psu should be able to hold everything(at least i hope it's enough). Well as you can see this is a really good build, but a little bit expensive. Like i said before, I could get some cheaper components. For example i could switch the motherboard with an gigabyte ga-z270x-ultra gaming. Or i could get a cheaper gtx 1070 like the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 AMP Edition and i could cheap out on the cpu cooler with the cooler master hyper 212x, since it costs less than the h80i v2. These are all and nice specs. But wait! What aboud Ryzen? Well since it has not come out yet, since we don't know the exact price, the exact performance compared to intel's cpu, i don't know. I really don't know. You know it might be performing better. Just a little bit. Maybe you can see a difference in benchmarks. But in real world performance? Nah, not really. At least not as much as it would be nessecarry to game or to do everyday tasks. I mean i get it that it should come out soon. Or maybe not as soon as i think. But still, i don't think it should be recommended until it's released and tested against intel's products. Well with that out of the way i would like to actually build the pc. But i can't buy everything together. I was thinking, what if i buy now a few parts now and later the others. Oh and like i said before i have a 720p monitor at the moment, but i would also like to buy one next christmas or black friday. One that's either 1080p or 1440p. But i will look into monitors later. So this is what i would build for now: CPU - Intel g4560 GPU - gtx 1050 Ti Motherboard - ASUS ROG STRIX Z270E GAMING OR gigabyte ga-270x-ultra gaming(because i could save some money with this gigabyte motherboard) Ram - 1x8gb ddr4 3000mhz kingston savage ram PSU - be quiet! Pure Power 9 700W (BN269) Case - Corsair Spec-01 Case SSD - Samsung 850 evo 250gb HDD- NOTE: I already have one WD blue 500gb HDD, so i could buy HDD later on an save money for now. Cooler - Well, for this setup the stock cooler that comes with the g4560 is enough. And later on i could swtich the cpu for the i7-7700k and the gpu to a GTX 1070. I could also add another 8gb stick without waiting for christmas. And i could add +2x8gb later on. Well like i said i could even buy the ASUS motherboard, but if i buy the gigabyte ga-270x-ultra gaming then i can save like $87. Yes i know the asus board costs ALOT. It's like $245 in my country.. Well i could either buy the hyper 212x to save some money or go with the liquid cooler later on, which would be nice. So for the last note. Don't ask me what is my budget, because i don't really want to convert my country's currency to dollar in each of the parts. It's just so different from the US prices. I could get that build, i just gotta wait for christmas to save up some money and hopefully i could get some sweet discounts at christmas or black friday What do you guys think? I could get this last build, where i just get the basics of the build and add the rest later the next month when i get my salary Or i could get the first build after i recieve my January salary and like i said before, i could add later on a non-k cpu + an rx 480 maybe. Well it's really hard to choose. Because if i go with the last build then i gotta choose between the ASUS or gigabyte motherboard. They both are cool. They both have rgb lighting. I like them both. The asus motherboard have some extra features, which is nice, But it costs SOOO much It's not a problem, i could buy it with the rest of the build, just that i could save some money with the gigabyte. Final notes: I live in Hungary if you are wondering and English is not my Native language, so pls be nice. And i hope you understand what i was saying

I recently bought the SPEC-01 from Corsair (great budget case btw). I noticed that it only has one included fan, and that fan is at the front. I want to remove the fan and put it by the CPU, but I don't know how to remove the front fascia. Everytime I pull on the little handle thing on the bottom it feels like I'm going to break something. Is just pulling that little thing with force what you're supposed to do?

Hello colleagues, I have placed an order for a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO air cooling system, and also a Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 Mid Tower Gaming Case, both items bought from Amazon US.. I'm a little worried if the 212 EVO won't fit into my case using an ASUS Z170-A Motherboard within the case mentioned above. I haven't seen any article about if it fits. The bad thing is that I already placed the order and I live far away from US in order to return the item or placing another order from Amazon U.S. Anyway, my questions are: Do you know if this will work? If it won't, which options do I have? Can I mod the case or the cooling system? I don't want to spend more that I did right now. Thanks in advance partners, Regards.

Hi, I was just wondering about my case the Corsair Carbide spec-01, how compatible is it with CPU Water cooling (not whole system cooling) I am not sure whether it is able to fit 1 radiator on the rear or 2 on top, or even none at all! I have used all fan outputs so a double radiator on top would be nice to fill in all fan holes. The fan sizes are 120mm. My MOBO is Z97-D3H if it helps. Thank you!

Before I begin, Specs: Intel I5 4690K 3.5GHz CPU (Not OCed) Gigabyte Z37-D3H MOBO Corsair CS750M PSU (750 Watts) 1TB Seagate HDD 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM Sock Intel CPU cooler No GPU yet (buying this week when I get money). Win 10 x64 I have recently assembled my system and I run into the problem of which aftermarket cooler to use as I find the Stock one to be loud and ineffective compared to others. I was strongly advised by friends that the EVO 212 was the best one for relatively little money (£25-£30/$35-$45) however when looking at the specs I saw that it was far too large for my case, so I was set back to square 1. I have not found anything with as much support as this so I was unsure which to purchase, I saw some decent reviews for the Raijintek Triton and it does looks so HAWT but then others said it cracked and F**ked their whole system so I have no clue. The max CPU cooler size for my case is 150mm. If you wouldn't mind taking a minute or so out of your day to alert me to a possible cooler it would be much appreciated. Looking to spend up to £55 unless it looks awesome . Thank you. (Please alert me if this is wrong thread).

Hi, I'm just getting into PC building, I haven't built my PC yet, I'm still waiting for parts, but can I please have some feedback on what I'm getting? This won't be used much for gaming, as I don't really game much at all. CPU: AMD FX6300 CPU: Stock at first, but then the Cooler Master Seidon 120 V2 Motherboard: M5A97 R2.0 RAM: 8GB HyperX Fury SSD: 120GB Samsung 850 EVO Hard Drive: Not purchased yet, but will be a 1TB Western Digital Blue PSU: Corsair CX500M Graphics Card: Asus GeForce 210 (Running Windows 10) I do plan on upgrading the GPU to either a 750Ti or a 740 SC, as I know the 210 is awful, but it's just temporary while I save up for GPU, CPU Cooler and Hard Drive. Thanks for any feedback
