Hey guys, I'l be building my first pc in a month or smth and I have 3 different sets of fans(Corsair; SP120-just got them, LL120-in my case and ML120-in my AIO cooling) and wanted to know which fans should I put where. I got 6 slots; 3 in the front, 1 in the back and 3 on the 'up...ig'. My AIO is the corsair h150i so it takes 3 slots. Hope y'all can understand what I mean, english is NOT my first language.

Hi! I've got a question about cooling and fans Would I be able to connect SP120s to a Deepcool Castle 360 RGB V2? (if so, would I need any certain parts?) If it is necessary, my Motherboard is (going to be) an MSI MAG B460 TOMAHAWK ATX LGA1200 Thanks!

Hi guys. I currently purchased a Corsair H150i Elite Capellix AIO that comes with 3 Corsair ML120 fans. My case is an Asus GT501 that comes with 3 TUF Gaming RGB fans on the front that I would like to replace. I was thinking of getting the same type of fans that the AIO has, however I do see that Corsair has different models that look very similar. The 2 models I like are the ML 120 and the SP 120. The SP 120 seem to be cheaper than the ML 120, so I was wondering if there are any actual differences in terms of RGB lightning and the effects you can configure in the iCUE software for both type of fans.

So I watched Linus' most recent videos where he bashed the AF120s a slight bit. So I ask, what's the issue with them vs SP120s? Wouldn't SP120s be better for heatsink and radiator use, and the AF120s for case fan use? I mean that's literally how they're described as by Corsair themselves, one for case and one for cooling solutions.

Since about a year ago i have only Been using the stock Intel i5 cooler and the 1 stock 200m case fan inside of the Thermaltake v21, its terrible and it sounds like a tractor. So i bought 2 corsair sp120 quiet edition fans and a hyper 212 evo. Im not gonna use the stock fan, only the 2 new ones + the 212. Where should i put them. I was thinking of having the 2 sp120 in the front and then using the 212 fan to pull air out through the heatsink and out of the case.

Hi all, So shortly i'm getting an NZXT Kraken x52, the radiator will be installed at the top of my case and will be in a push config (fans at the bottom) So in the pursuit of aesthetics and lighting, im torn between the NZXT aers and the Corsair SP120 RGBs (these are the ones with the controller not done through software) My main worry is between the two I prefer the look of the Corsairs but I am really worried that they are bright, and I mean really bright, looking at images online and on PCpartpicker they look like they'll just swamp every other light source I have in there including the new bloody cooler, my worry about the Aers is that they're not bright enough and wont even be visible. Does anyone have these Corsairs i'm on about and can share photos or opinions on what they think of the brightness? Many thanks

Recently bought a corsair 460x rgb case and connected up all the fans + 1 extra i bought (3pin SP120). After going through the bios and changing all the fan settings to quiet mode, only one chassis fan seems to be running at the quiet setting of 600 RPM (CHA_FAN1) while the others are at 1500+ RPM. Any help would be appreciated? Mobo: Asrock h170 performance

So currently I own a Noctua NH-U12S CPU Cooler and it has served me well over the years. Currently I'm in the process of upgrading my rig and with the current trend being EVERYTHING RGB I thought of giving my trusty old CPU cooler a face lift with some new, snazzy RGB fans. Specifically these new SP120 RGB Fans from Corsair:- http://www.corsair.com/en-us/sp120-rgb-led-high-performance-120mm-fan-three-pack-with-controller Now the problem with these fans is the non-existent PWM control. Is it recommended then to cool my CPU with 3-pin fans? Is there a workaround for it? Probably just hook it up to the other fan header, ignoring the CPU header altogether?

I have a Corsair 570x case and it comes with 3 fans and i purchased another 3, so six total. When i turn my pc on the fan lights go throught there stupid strobe and fading color, is there a way to make it stay static on power on. or do i have to throw some more money at corsair and buy the commander.

Hi everyone, I've recently started having an issue with a build I did a couple of months ago. I'll preface this by saying that I was originally using 3-pin splitters on all fans but the cpu fans then the problem changed slightly when I switched to 4-pin splitters. The fans I use are 2 corsair SP120s and 3 corasir HD120s, along with 2 CPU fans. After using the BIOS Qfan optimisation (ASUS Z270H mobo) my computer started failing to POST, only the CPU fans would run and while the LEDs lit up on the chassis fans, they would not run. I tried pushing them slightly to get them running but no joy. After restarting the computer a few times by turning it off at the wall it would eventually boot normally with all fans running. Now that I've switched to different splitters I'm only having this issue with the non PWM SP120 fans. I still have to do multiple restarts every time I want to turn my computer on to get the fan running so the computer can boot. It is also having this issue when I try to wake it from sleep. I have also tried using AI suite 3 to change fan settings and I've gone back and forth multiple times resetting and reoptimising to the point of madness. Could it be a voltage issue to the SP120s? If so please could someone help me work out how to fix it? Specs ASUS Z270H mobo i5 7600K Corsair H75 cooler MSI GTX 970 GSKILL Trident Z RGB 8GB x2 EVGA 650W G2 Windows 10

I was unsuccessful in my attempt, so this is really only to give people looking for this kind of solution a concrete answer that I couldn't find. My goal for a while has been to use the controller that comes with the sp120 fans in the corsair 570x case, to run an rgb strip as well. There has not been much information easily found on this specific use case so I am posting this for anyone that was looking into doing the same. The reason for doing this mod was to make use of the physical buttons on the case to control all of the LEDs. There are of course software methods that can get this done, but would require disabling the functionality on the case. Corsair sells a "lighting node" and strips to go with it and a separate controller box that can link the node and the sp120 controller all through usb 2.0 headers. This makes everything controllable through their LINK software. However this will disable the physical buttons on the case and cost ~$120. Most rgb strips for pc use a +12v power and -r -g -b. My original assumption was the controller output a +5v and had three grounds similar to an led strip, so the solution would have be take +12v from a molex for the strip and wire the 3 rgb pins to the controller. The sp120 controller takes +12v from a sata power connector and spits out +5v r, +5v g, +5v b, and -ground. Corsair kept all of the components in the controller and the fans have only the LEDs. RGB strips tend to take the 12v and step down to 5v at the LEDs. One can understand that this keeps the cost of the fans down and at the same time forces people to buy more corsair products. So my dream is dead. I think my next solution will be to install 3 switches on the back or bottom of the case so I can switch between colors on the strip. Not great but I really don't want to bother with software. I hope this info will help anyone looking to do this.

I ordered the Phanteks P400 almost solely for the built in rgb controller/rgb strip. Unfortunately, the theme I'm doing is all black and white components and the white feature on my case is more of an ice blue that really clashes with my white led fans. Since I've already assembled the case and it's not defective, taking the 15% restocking fee plus the cost of shipping it back to Newegg and ordering a new case on top of that just isn't worth it, so I was thinking about getting a pack of Corsair sp120 RGB fans with their included fan controller https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16835181117 My question is, if I were to unplug the light strip from my cases built in RGB controller, could I connect the Corsair SP120's HUB to it and controller the RGB functions with the button on top of my case? I would really hate to have to open up my case to access the switch everytime I wanted to change colors.

So my question is can i convert the 12V output from the asus motherboard to the 5v that the corsair led fans use. i actually had to RMA my original fans because i plugged the controller into the motherboard and it worked for about 5 mins before they cooked. that way i can use the asus aura for my led instead of throwing corsair some more money for there commander.. Using something like this. just thought id ask.. i like to experiment. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CXKBJI2/ref=asc_df_B00CXKBJI25157404/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395033&creativeASIN=B00CXKBJI2&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167146065113&hvpos=1o5&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5147289438984553120&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031107&hvtargid=pla-362748412247

The sp120 controller is an rgb controller nothing more as far as I understand. I would like to add a led strip to my corsair 570x without buying a separate controller and keep the simplicity and functionality of the buttons built into the case. While corsair sells their own strips and controllers specifically for this purpose, would the corsair strips interface with the sp120 controller if modified to fit, or splice the wires with a sp120 connector. Corsair has the proprietary connectors on the sp120's. Would the wiring be the same for the fan leds as well as the strip apart from the connector?

Or 3x the cash for the corsair commander thing, and then have to deal with software control for everything. Would love to know if this would be possible. Sry if this should be in modding.

I want to use it on my 120mm tower cooler as the old fan died. So how will it perform as a cpu cooler fan? Or should I invest in something better like ml120 pro non rgb. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Fans/sp-series-rgb-led-config/p/CO-9050059-WW

Found some money i dont care about, want new radiator to add some lighting in my case and because one of my Fractal Design GP x12s is dead so is there much to justefy the price increase of the ML120s over the SP120s? 5 ML120s comes out to €125 and 8 SP120s is €55 so the price difference is quite large, i could definatly get some other stuff i want with the money i save on the SPs over the MLs. Thanks for any help

So if i was to go with the 460X rgb, it will come with 3 SP120 fans for the front intake. Are sp120's good for general airflow? and would it be worth getting 2/3 more for the case? or should i get the non rgb version and just buy some HD120's or AF120's?

Hey all, I'm attempting some RGB nonsense on my personal rig currently and am running into an odd issue. I've read of similar issues in other forums but nothing that matches this too well. I've got one SP120 RGB fan, and 4 LED strips currently hooked up in the following manner: SP120 -> Fan Controller -> Lighting Node Pro LED Strips -> Lighting Node Pro Both connected to my mobo via the USB cable on the LNP. When I connect it to Corsair Link (running v.4.9.6.19) I'm able to control all the RGB strips individually with no trouble, but there's no lighting taking place on the fan. It's spinning as normal, and I've tried all 6 ports on the fan controller... Any thoughts? I'm aware it could be a faulty controller but I'm crossing my fingers that I'm just incompetent. Cheers.

i will make this simple but one of the included sp120 fans in my crystal 460x rgb sometimes makes a rattling noise when i turn it on ans when it is spinning i shakes like it is off centre. i will look more in to the issue but if the fan is indeed off centre will i need to disassemble my fully functional entire rig just to send the case back to coarsair or can i just send the broken fan. things to note is that the problem may be caused by the fan being pluged into the aio pump header due to not enough headers on my mobo. i also purchased another sp120 could i possibly send that one fan back with the extra fan i gots warranty?

So I am a newbie into setting up cooling. I purchased an Asus Maximus X Hero along with a Corsair 570x which comes in with 3 fans. I ordered a Deepcool Gammaxx GT air cooler along as well in order to cool the i5 8600k cpu I got. I felt it would be nicer to add in a few more fans to get a bit more RGB vibe on it and order a 3 pack HD120 fans. Now comes the problem. I didn't forsee at all the number of 4 pin headers available to make this connection. I have to use the chassis fan 1,2,3 to setup the already available SP120s of the corsair 570x case. In addition to that I will be using the CPU FAN1 to control the air cooler. Looking at the motherboard manually shows me that I do have a few more 4 pin headers left on the board but I don't know if it's a good idea to use the remaining headers to setup my HD120s.

Hi, I want to buy corsair sp120 rgb 3 pack for my pc. It comes with a lighting hub. As per i know it can cycle though different colours and mode all at once. How can i address individual fan to different colour or software control the fan LEDs. Is commander pro must for software control? PS my motherboard don't have a rgb header. Thanks in advance.

I brought a SP120 fan a few month ago, I know that SP120 is not controll by corsair link using the stock controller, but if I buy a Commander Pro will I be able to control it's speed and lighting effect?

Hello everyone I built my first PC earlier this Spring, bought a Corsair 100R case and had a 3-pin exhaust fan(supposedly a SP120 without RGB) at the back with it. I installed it on my Asus Prime B250M-A motherboard and never had a problem. The Ai Suite 3 controls it well etc. However I recently bought a SP 120 to use as an intake fan and I never had more problems with any other electronics in my entire life. It has both a 4-pin and a 3-pin connector. The problems go as listed; When plugged in with the 4-pin connector it won't work in any way even the BiOs won't recognize it. However when plugged in with the 3-pin connector the BiOs recognizes it and the story starts. When I select DC Mode it will work as it should be while in the bios but when windows boots it will always run on max RPM and Ai Suite 3 won't recognize it. But again it works as it should when I'm in the bios variable speed and everything. When I select PWM Mode it will run at full speed at all times which is not a surprise since its connected with the 3-pin connector. TL;DR : 3-Pin connected Fan will go full speed(and only full speed) when booted up while another 3-pin connected fan works without a problem. P.S:Sorry for any grammar, spelling mistakes.
